Clara Louise (Sippel) Schaeffer (1890-1927)

This obituary marked the passing of Clara Louise (Sippel) Schaeffer in 1927.

Clara Louise (Sippel) Schaefer, daughter of Henry and Marie Sippel, was born near Loraine, Ill., on June 1st, 1890, and passed away at Mercy Hospital, Davenport, Ia., on Feb. 22nd, 1927, at the age of 36 years, 8 months and 21 days.

On the 22nd day of Feb., 1912, she was married to Albert Schaeffer and to them two sons were born, Clarence Henry and Ira Elmer who with the father are left to mourn the loss of this devoted and loving mother. Mrs. Schaefer is also survived by her parents, three sisters, Mrs. Esther Heller, and Ruth and Mildred, also three brothers, Edward, John and Donald; two brothers preceeded Mrs. Schaeffer in death.

Mrs. Schaeffer was a member of the Evangelical Church in Loraine and has been known to her many friends as a good christian woman. Since living in this community she has been very faithful in her help and service in the Baptist church. She will be sadly missed in her home where she was a very devoted mother and wife. Her many friends and acquaintances will feel the loss of a good friend, but we may all rest in the hope of a blessed reunion in our Heavenly Father's home.

The funeral service was held Thursday afternoon at the Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Yemm, owing to the disability of Rev. Whiteman. The music was rendered by Misses Carrie and Callie Wood and L.T. Slaymaker. Burial was in Erie Cemetery.
