Alfons Masscho (1882-1960)

The following obituary marked the passing of Alfons Masscho ON Jan. 15, 1960.

Alfons Masscho, 77, retired farmer, died at 6 this morning in his home.

Services are pending at the SChilling Funeral home.

He was born Sept. 11, 1882, in Schuyffers-Kapelle W. FL., Belguim, the son of the late Henry and Melania Looten Masscho.

He attended Belgium schools.

Mr. Masscho immigrated to East Moline in 1908 and lived there two years. He then moved to Erie, where he has resided since.

He married Irma Wyckhuys, July 4, 1904, in Thielt, Belgium.

He was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Erie.

Survivors include the widow; two daughters, Mrs Homer Heyvaert, Erie, and Mrs. Francis VanQuakebeke, Annawan; a son, Rene, Erie; a sister Mrs. Marie Daeclle, East Moline; a brother, Phil Masscho, Belgium; 12 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by 5 children, two brothers and a sister.
