The following obituary marked the passing of Marjarie J. Carpenter.
Marjorie J. Carpenter, 62, Erie, died Sunday, Nov. 17, 1991, at home.
Services are 2 p.m. Wednesday at Gibson Funeral Home, Erie. Burial is in Erie Cemetery.
Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Memorials may be made to the Erie Ambulance Service or the Erie Division of Whiteside County Hospice Association.
The former Marjorie Taylor was born June 24, 1929, in Morrison, the daughter of George Sr. and Nellie Port Taylor. She married Thomas "Shorty" Carpenter Sept. 16, 1946, in Rock Island. He died May 20, 1982.
She had been employed for many years at Don's Tap, Erie, retiring in 1980.
She enjoyed crocheting.
Survivors include daughters, Karen Masscho, Erie, and Linda Nelson and Connie Pruis, both of Morrison; 7 grandchildren; her father, Prophetstown; a sister, Betty Wollesen, Lyndon; brothers, George Taylor Jr., Prophetstown, Richard Taylor, Sterling, and Donald Taylor, Chillicothe, IL.
