Abolish The Electoral College - Let The People Elect The President

Your vote for President does not count! It is meaningless in the context of the United States Constitution.

Instead, the 538 members of the Electoral College select the President of the United States. These 538 people are not chosen by the voters, but by the political parties. The electors are free to vote for whomever they want regardless of any pledge to the contrary.

In 2000, the Electoral College selected George Bush as President despite his loss of the election to Al Gore by 540,520 votes. Unfortunately, this was not the first time the Electoral College selected the candidate who lost the election.

This site addresses the origins of the Electoral College, its failings, and the reasons that support its elimination. As Americans, we must work together to change the Constitution to allow the People of the United States to elect their President. The direct election of the President by the American people is the only way to ensure that each American's vote is counted and counted fairly.
