Talking into the silence,
My words making so much sense.
Yet everyone around me listens,
To another call.
Trying to help all of them,
Through my prophetic ways.
They all turn from me,
And go on their merry ways.
So I try to yell out to them,
Maybe then they would hear.
But words fall like lead weights,
Through the air so clear.
I try telling about my hopes,
And about my fears.
I try to tell about my love,
And how all I see is tears.
My tears run down my face,
Like water into a moat.
I resolved to leave my very last words,
Concealed within this very note.
I’ve got something important, to tell you all.
I need help from all of you, lest I slip and fall.
Oh I wish you’d stop, and please listen to me,
Then all of you could understand everything I see.
But I’m aware now that this hope could never be,
And I wish that you give no thought of this catastrophe.
