of Oakland, a daughter of Joseph and Theresa Valchar, in 1908 she married
Joseph Woytek, who died in 1948. They lived first at Oakland and Weimar,
farming then in 1918 they bought a farm near
Schulenburg. There they were farming till his death. Since then she lived with
Mr. and Mrs. John Fojt where she had her own home.
Survivors
include her 99 year old mother, Mrs. Theresa Valchar, six sisters, two brothers
and other relatives.

Lillian Machac Elder fondly remembers her Grandpa Machac always having treats
for the sick kids. At Christmas,
even though they didn't have much, The Machacs always had something for the
grandkids.

Chirstmas, they put little gifts in Walnut shells and glued the halves back
together. Lillian remembers getting a ring in hers.
Martin also had two boats: The Ruby Mae (named after his granddaughter),
and Baby Belle.

services were held in Weimar Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 12, for Jerry Joe
Valchar, 76. retired farmer who died
Sunday about 7 p.m. at Youens Hospital, after a stroke.
Valchar
a lifelong resident of that area, was first stricken Friday morning at his home
in the New Bielau community.
Rev.
Frank Kostohryz officiated in the services at Hubbard Funeral Home, assisted
by.Rev. Frank H. Horak, Jr., of Weimar
Burial was in the Masonic Cemetery here. Mr. Valchar was a member of the Czech Moravian Brethren Church in Vsetin.
Born
March 30, 1892, near Oakland he was a son of Joe and Theresa Coufal Valchar His
mother preceded him in death only the
past November at the age of 102.
He
married Miss Annie MalinovskY here on Oct. 2, 1916, and they settled in the Oakland
section. Mrs. Valchar died May 5, 1964
and Mr. Valchar moved to the farm of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Julius Ermis. at New Bielau.
Surviving
are two sons, Jerry E. Valchar of Temple and Johnnie J. Valchar of Albuquerque,
New Mexico; three daughters, Mrs. Frank
(Ruby) Rokvta of Victoria, Mrs. Andrew (Ollie) Kozlowski of Grand Rapids. Mich. and Ms. Julius (Milady)
Ermis of Weimar; 16 grandchildren; one brother, Henry of Oakland; and four sisters, Mrs. John (Annie)
Fojt of Weimar, Mrs John (Vlasta) Wojtek, Mrs. Frank (Lydia) Roznovak and Miss Martha Valchar all of Oakland. Six
sisters preceded him in death.
