Richard "Rick" Powers was born in 1944 in Bartow, FL.as a 6th generation Floridian. Powers considers the use of art critical in educating both young and old about the importance of conservation. Exploring the southern woods and waters in his early years cultivated a friendship with nature that he strives to portray in his paintings. He is an outdoors man and draws upon those experiences for subject. Many collectors throughout Florida have felt the irresistable magic of a Powers painting. His work hangs in Corporate offices as well as private collections.
