"As long as you remember someone they will live forever."
Memories fade with time, details get blurred and faces are harder to remember. This memorial website is our way of celebrating and honoring the lives of our beloved friends, teachers, staff members and others who have passed away. It has been a very emotional journey gathering this information. We are planning on posting all the obituaries, articles, and stories we find on each individual. Hopefully we will be able to devise a way for you to place your own memories of each person on this site as well. We (Kathy Deal Farmer and I) would be remiss if we did not recognize those persons who have helped us secure the information for this page. A special thanks to the staff of the Vigo County Public Library Genealogy Department -- J.J. Coppinger, Nancy Sherrill, David Lewis, and Janice Flowers Phillips; the Vigo County Public Library Reference Department; Vigo County Vital Statistics; Roselawn Funeral Home; Jim and Patty Dulin; Ted Laughrey; Ellen Slaven (Dean of Girls of North Vigo and Otter Creek Jr. High, retired); Mrs. Barbara Howard Coleman; Mrs. Donna Loudermilk (former Assistant Principal of North Vigo); and Miss Mary Jane Burt. This site will continually be a work in progress. If you are unable to locate a person's information when you click on their link, it probably hasn't been done yet. Please be patient! Check back often...as we will be adding obituaries now when they appear in the Terre Haute paper, or as you notify us.

If you have any information about any students or teachers that are not found on these pages, please contact us by email (click above in the directory). We will verify all information before posting, so if you have the obituary, please include it with your email. (This page will only include those teachers, administrators, etc. that were at North Vigo during the tenure of the Class of 1977).
We extend our sympathies to the family of Gene Shike. Also to Mary Lynn Pendergast Hayes and Curtis Brashears at the loss of their mothers.
