City Folk performs original, acoustic folk music, unlike any other local act. The music is multi-faceted: rich and mellow for coffee houses, educated and literate for bookstores, and vibrantly expressive for arts festivals and other venues. There are upbeat “toe tappers,” dark and mellow moments, and just a few “covers” in homage to the artists who have influenced John’s writing.

City Folk has delighted audiences with performances at the Ohio State Fair, Red, White, and Boom, First Night Columbus, ComFest, Short North Arts Festival, Newark's Arts In The City Festival, Urbana's Raspberry Festival, and many other area venues where you would expect to find the best in original music!
