MATERIALS REQUIRED:

DAISY Mercerized Crochet Cotton size 20. 2-skeins White.

Steel crochet hook No. 12.

1st BLOCK - (Size-3 3/4 inches) -Starting in center, ch 6, join with sl st to form ring.

ROW 1 - Ch 1, 8 sc in ring, join with sl st in back lp of 1st sc.

ROW 2 - * Ch 5, 5 tr in same sc, ch 4, sl st in same sc, sl st in back lp of next 2 sc. Repeat from * 3 times.

ROW 3 - Ch 5, remove hook from lp, insert it up in center tr of next petal, catch lp and draw thru, letting ch-5 lie up back of petal. Ch 8, tr in same tr, * ch 10, dc down in center ring between petals, ch 10, (tr, ch 3, tr) in center tr on next petal. Repeat from * around, join final ch-10 with sl st in 5th st of ch-8.

ROW 4 - Sc in next (corner) ch-3 sp, ch 6, dc in same sp, (ch 3, dc) 3 times in same sp, * ch 6, dc in 6th ch of next ch-10 lp, dc in 5th ch of next ch-10 lp, ch 6, dc in ch-3 sp between next 2 tr at corner, (ch 3, dc) 4 times in same sp. Repeat from * around, join final ch-6 to 3d ch of 1st ch-6.

ROW 5 - * Ch 10, sc in 4th ch from hook, hdc in next 2 ch, dc in next 3 ch, holding back the last lp of each dc on hook, make 2 dc in next ch, thread over and draw thru all 3 lps on hook (Cluster made), sl st in next dc. Repeat from * 3 times. 5 sc in two-thirds of next ch-6 sp, ch 11, 5 sc in left two-thirds of next ch-6 sp, sl st in next dc. Repeat from * around, join and fasten off.

ROW 6 - Join to tip of 1st point at one corner, * (ch 10, sc in next point) 3 times, ch 6, sc in next ch-11 lp, ch 6, sc in next point. Repeat from * around, join.

ROW 7 - * In each of next 3 ch-10 sps, make sc, hdc, 4 dc, ch 4, 4 dc, hdc, and sc. Sc in next sc, ch 4, (tr, ch 6, tr) in sc between next 2 ch-6 sps, ch 4, sc in next sc. Repeat from * around, join and fasten off.

2d BLOCK - Repeat thru Row 6.

ROW 7 - In each of next 2 ch-10 sps, make sc, hdc, 4 dc, ch 4, 4 dc, hdc and sc. * In half of next ch-10 sp make sc, hdc and 4 dc, ch 2, sl st in corresponding point on 1st Block, ch 2 back and make 4 dc, hdc and sc in bal. of same ch-10 sp on 2d Block, * sc in next sc, ch 4, tr in sc between next 2 ch-6 sps, ch 3, sl st in center of next corresponding shell on 1st Block, ch 3, tr back in same sc with last tr on 2d Block, ch 4, sc in next sc. Repeat from * to *. Then complete row as for 1st Block.

Join a 3d Block to 2d Block, and a 4th Block to 1st and 3d Blocks. This leave 4 points free in center opening between 4 Blocks.

FILL-IN MOTIF-Join to 1 point in opening, ch 1, sc in same place, (ch 9, sc in next point) 3 times, ch 9, join with sl st in 1st sc. Fasten off.

LARGE DOlLY-Make 20 Blocks and join 4 x 5.

SMALL DOILY-(Make 2)-Make 6 Blocks and join 2 x 3.

Stretch and pin doilies right-side-down in true shape. Steam and press dry thru a cloth.
