LILY MERCERIZED CROCHET COTTON, Art. 36, Size 30: 1 ball White; or

LILY MERCROCHET MERCERIZED CROCHET COTTON, Art. 161, Size 30: 2 balls White.

No. 13 Steel Crochet Hook.

Work tightly for best results.

Starting in center, ch 13, join with sl st to form ring.

1st rnd: Ch 11, (tr tr in ring, ch 2) 22 times, tr tr in ring, ch 1, join with hdc in 9th st of ch-11.

2nd rnd: (Ch 4, sc in next sp) 23 times, ch 2, hdc in hdc at end of last rnd for 24th lp.

3rd rnd: Make ch-5 lps around with ch 2 and dc for final lp.

Repeat for 4th rnd.

5th rnd: Make one ch-5 lp, 5 dc in back lp of next sc between lps, sc in next lp (one shell made); (make 2 lps, a shell) 7 times; ch 2 and dc for final lp.

6th rnd: Ch 6, sc in next lp, * ch 6, sc in center dc of next shell, (ch 6, sc in next lp) twice. Repeat from * around. After sc in 8th shell make ch 3 and dc for final lp.

7th rnd: (Ch 9, dtr in next lp, ch 9, sc in next lp) 11 times, ch 9, dtr in next lp, tr tr in dc at end of last rnd.

8th rnd: (Ch 19, sc in center dtr of next point) 11 times, ch 9, tr tr in center dtr of next point.

9th rnd: (Ch 4, dtr) 4 times in same dtr, * ch 4, sc in center of next large lp, (ch 4, dtr) 4 times in sc between lps. Repeat from * around, ch 2, dc in tr tr at end of last rnd.

10th rnd: (Ch 5, sc in next sp) repeated around with ch 2 and dc for final lp (60 lps).

llth rnd: (Ch 6, sc in next lp) repeated around with ch 3 and dc for final lp.

12th rnd: Make a 5-dc shell in same place with dc, sc in next lp, (1 lp, a shell, * 2 lps, a shell) repeated around ending at *; 1 lp then ch 3 and dc for final lp.

13th rnd; Start as in last rnd with a shell, then (2 lps, a shell, * 1 lp, a shell) repeated around ending at *; ch 3 and dc for final lp.

14th rnd: Start with a shell, (3 lps, 2 shells) repeated around, ending with one shell.

15th rnd: St st to center dc of 1st shell, (4 lps, a shell) repeated around.

16th rnd: Sl st to center of next lp, 1 lp, a shell, (4 lps, a shell) repeated around, ending with 2 lps, then ch 3 and dc for a final lp.

17th rnd: Make lps around with ch 3 and dc for final lp.

18th rnd: Ch 16, sc in next lp, * ch 11, holding back the last lp of each dtr on hook make dtr in next 2 lps, thread over and draw thru all 3 lps on hook, ch 11, sc in next lp, ch 9, ** dtr in next lp, ch 9, sc in next lp. Repeat from * around ending at **; join with sc in 7th st of ch-16.

19th rnd: (Ch 21, sc in center of next point) repeated around.

20th rnd: Ch 12, (dtr, ch 5, dtr) in same sc, ch 5, sc in next large lp, * (ch 5, dtr) 3 times in next sc between lps, ch 5, sc in next lp. Repeat from * around; ch. 2, join with dc in 7th st of ch-12.

21st rnd: (Ch 6, sc in next lp) repeated around with ch 3 and dc for final lp.

Repeat for 22d rnd.

23d rnd: (Make 5 lps, a shell, 1 lp, a shell) repeated around.

24th rnd: Sl st to center of next lp, (4 lps, a shell, 2 lps, a shell) repeated around.

25th rnd: Sl st to center of next lp, (3 lps, a shell) repeated around.

Make ch-7 lps in the next 2 rnds.

Stretch and pin centerpiece right-side-down in a true circle. Steam and press dry thru a doubled cloth.
