CLARK'S BIG BALL MERCERIZED CROCHET, Art. B. 34, Size 30, 30 balls of White, No. 61 Ecru or No. 42 Cream, or 41 balls of any color; or

CLARK'S BIG BALL MERCERIZED CROCHET, Art. B. 345, Size 30, 18 balls of White or Ecru only.

Tablecloth 45 inches square

GAUGE: Each motif measures 5 inches square.

FIRST MOTIF (Make 49) ... Starting at center, ch 8. Join with sl st to form a ring.

1st rnd: Ch 3, 2 dc in ring, (ch 3, 3 dc in ring) 7 times; ch 3, sl st in top of ch-3.

2nd rnd: Starting at A on chart, sl st in next 2 dc and in next sp; ch 3, in same sp make 2 dc, ch 3 and 3 dc (starting corner over starting corner made); * ch 2, dc in next sp, ch 2; in next sp make 3 dc, ch 3 and 3 dc (corner over corner made). Repeat from * around. Join last ch 2 to top of ch-3.

3rd rnd: Sl st and make starting corner over starting corner as before, * ch 2, skip 2 dc, dc in next dc (sp over bl made); (ch 2, dc in next dc - sp over sp made) twice; ch 2, make corner over corner. Repeat from * around. Join as before.

4th rnd: Make starting corner over starting corner, * make 2 sps; (dc in next sp and in next dc - bl over sp made) twice; make 1 sp, ch 2, make corner over corner. Repeat from * around. Join.

5th rnd: Follow chart around.

6th rnd: Make corner over corner, make 2 sps, 2 bls; (skip next dc, dc in next dc-sp over bl made) twice, now continue to follow chart around.

7th to 15th rnds incl: Follow chart around. Break off at end of 15th rnd.

Sew 7x7 motifs neatly together.

SECOND MOTIF (Make 28) ... Work first rnd of First Motif, then follow chart for Second Motif.

Sew Motifs to previous piece, having the plain triangle side along outer edges of piece when completed.

CORNER MOTIF (Make 4) ... Work first rnd of First Motif, then follow chart for Corner Motif. Sew Motifs in place.

BORDER . . . Work 3 rows of sc closely around all sides of cloth, increasing at corners to keep work flat. Starch lightly and press.

BLOCK=3dc. SPACE = ch 2 and dc.
