Measurements: 19 in. x 14 1/2 in. (approx.)
Ch-chain.
Sp - space = 3 ch, miss 3 ch or tr, tr into next ch or tr.
Blk - block = 5 tr, plus 4 tr for each additional bik in group.
Cross == Miss 2 sts, 1 tr into next st, 1 ch, inserting hook from behind last tr work 1 tr into first of 2 sts missed.
3 tr cluster = Leaving the last loop of each on hook work 3 tr into next st, thread over and draw through all loops on hook.
Cluster bar = 4 ch, a 2 tr cluster into 4th ch from hook.
Diamond cluster = A 3 tr cluster, (4 ch, a 2 tr cluster into 4th ch from hook) twice, a 3 tr cluster into same place as first 3 tr cluster.
Commence with 204 ch.
1st Row: Leaving the last loop of each on hook work 2 tr into 4th ch from hook, thread over and draw through all loops on hook (a 2 tr cluster made), (3 ch, miss 3 ch, 1 tr into next ch) 49 times (49 sps made), 3 ch, miss 3 ch, leaving the last loop of each on hook work 3 tr into next ch, thread over and draw through all loops on hook (a 3 tr cluster made), (50 sps in all), 4 ch, turn.
2nd Row: A 2 tr cluster into top of cluster, (3 ch, 1 tr into next tr) 49 times, 3 ch, a 3 tr cluster into top of next tr cluster (50 sps made over 50 sps), 4 ch, turn.
Repeat 2nd row 36 times more.
39th Row: A 2 tr cluster into top of cluster, 10 sps, * a 3 tr cluster into next tr, (4 ch, a 2 tr cluster into 4th ch from hook) twice, a 3 tr cluster into same place as last 3 tr cluster (a diamond cluster made), 1 tr into next tr; repeat from * twice more, 6 sps; repeat from first * twice more, 3 sps, 3 ch, a 3 tr cluster into next cluster, 4 ch, turn.
40th Row: A 2 tr cluster into top of cluster, 10 sps, * (3 ch, 1 sc into centre ch of diamond, 3 ch, 1 tr into next tr) 3 times, 6 sps; repeat from * twice more, 3 sps, 3 ch, a 3 tr cluster into next cluster, 4 ch, turn.
4tst Row: A 2 tr cluster into top of cluster, 10 sps, * a diamond cluster into next sc, 1 tr into next tr, 2 sps, a diamond cluster into next sc, 1 tr into next tr, 6 sps; repeat from. * twice more, 3 sps, 3 ch, a 3 tr cluster into next cluster, 4 ch, turn.
Now follow diagram from 42nd to 47th row.
48th Row: A 2 tr cluster into top of cluster, 4 sps, * (3 ch, 1 sc into centre ch of diamond, 3 ch, 1 tr into next tr) 3 times, 2 sps, miss 2 ch, 1 tr into next ch, 1 ch, inserting hook from behind last tr work 1 tr into first of 2 ch missed (cross made), 1 tr into next tr, 1 cross, 1 tr into next tr, 2 sps; repeat from * twice more (3 ch, 1 sc into centre ch of next diamond, 3 ch, 1 tr into next tr) 3 times 3 sps, 3 ch, a 3 tr cluster into next cluster, 4 ch, turn.
49th Row: Follow diagram.
50th Row: A 2 tr cluster into top of cluster, 4 sps, 3 ch, 1 sc into centre ch of next diamond, 3 ch, 1 tr into next tr, 5 sps, miss 1 tr, 1 tr into next tr, 1 ch, inserting hook from behind last tr work 1 tr into tr just missed (cross made over cross), 1 tr into next tr, follow diagram to end of row, 4 ch, turn.
Now follow diagram from 51st to 63rd row omitting turning ch on last row, turn.
64th Row: Ss to center ch of diamond, 1 sc into centre ch, 3 ch, 1 tr into next tr, follow diagram to end of row ending with 1 sc into centre ch of last diamond, 4 ch, turn.
65th Row: A 2 tr cluster into last sc, * miss 1 tr, a diamond cluster into next tr, miss 1 tr, a 2 tr cluster into next sc, 4 ch, 1 ss into same place as last cluster, 4 ch, a 2 tr cluster into same place as last ss; repeat from * omitting 4 ch and a 2 tr cluster at end of last repeat. Fasten off.
