Materials: Clark's O.N.T. Cronita, 3 balls, or J. & P.

Coats Knit-Cro-Sheen, 2 balls, of White or Ecru.

Milward's steel crochet hook No. 6.

Ch 134, turn.

1st row: Dc in 4th ch from hook, 1 dc in each st of foundation ch. Ch 3, turn.

2nd row: Dc in each of 1st 2 dc, * ch 5, skip 4 dc, dc in next, ch 3, skip 2 dc, sl st in next, ch 3, skip 2 dc, dc in next, repeat from * 10 more times, ch 5, skip 4 dc, dc in each of next 3 dc, ch 3 turn.

3rd row: Dc in each of next 2 dc, * ch 3, sl st in center st of ch-5, ch 3, dc in dc, ch 5, dc in dc, repeat from * 10 more times, thus making lacet over open sps across row. Then ch 3, sl st in center st of ch-5, ch 3, dc in each of next 3 dc, ch 3, turn.

4th row: Dc in each of 2 dc, ch 5, dc in next dc, * 5 dc under ch-5 loop, dc in dc, 2 dc under each ch-3 loop of lacet, dc in dc, repeat from * 9 more times, then make 5 dc under ch-5 loop, dc in dc, ch 5, skip lacet and make dc in each of the last dc, ch 3, turn.

5th row: Dc in each of 1st 2 dc, ch 3, sl st in center st of ch-5, ch 3, dc in each of next 3 dc, * ch 1, skip 1 dc, dc in next, repeat from * 55 more times, thus making a row of sps, dc in each of 3-dc, ch 3, sl st in center st of ch-5, ch 3, dc in each of last 3 dc, ch 3, turn.

6th row: Dc in each of 2 dc, ch 5, skip lacet, dc in each of 3 dc, then make sp over sp, dc over dc, and at end of row, ch 5 over lacet, dc in each of last 3 dc. Ch 3, turn.

7th to 14th rows incl: Alternate 5th and 6th rows.

15th row: Dc group on edge, 1 lacet, dc group, 10 sps, dc in dc and dc in sp for 36 sps, then 10 sps, dc group, 1 lacet, dc group, ch 3, turn.

16th row: Dc group ch 5 for lacet, dc group, 10 sps, dc group, * ch 5, skip 4 dc, dc in next, ch 3, skip 2 dc, sl st in next, ch 3, skip 2 dc, dc in next, repeat from * 5 more times, dc in each of next 3 dc, 10 sps, dc group, ch 5 over lacet, dc in each of last 3 dc, ch 3, turn.

17th row: Same as 16th, except in center section, alternate the lacets over the ch-5 loops, and the ch-5 loops over the lacets, as in 2nd and 3rd rows.

18th to 24th rows incl: Alternate 16th and 17th rows.

25th row: Same as l5th row. Continue work, making this end of runner to correspond to other end.
