For a spread 84x108 inches it takes 972 flowerets, having 26 Flowerets on 1st row, 28 on second row and requires 36 balls of Royal Society Knitting & Crochet Cotton.

DIRECTIONS

Use Royal Society Knitting & Crochet Cotton, and #3 Crochet Hook.

Flowerets: Wind thread around 2 fingers 6 times (this makes a ring about 7/8"}.

1st rnd: 36 sc in ring, join with sl st.

2nd row: Ch 5, 1 d tr c (thread over hook 3 times, taking off 2 loops at a time) next 2 sts, * ch 3, 1 d tr c next 3 sts, repeat from * around ring having 12 petals, join with sl st.

3rd rnd: * 1 sc in middle d tr c, 3 dc next ch loop, 1 p (use 4 ch) 3 dc in same ch loop, repeat from * around ring, fasten off.

To join Flowerets: For 1st row, on 3rd rnd of 2nd floweret, complete 10 p, * 1 sc in middle of d tr c, 3 dc next ch loop, ch 2, insert hook thru p of 1st floweret, ch 2, sl st in last dc, 3 dc in same ch loop, repeat from * once more, fasten off. On the 3rd floweret join 2 p at opposite side of 2nd floweret, leaving 4 p between. Continue same from other flowerets across top of article.

2nd row: Start from right to left; after 8 p are made on last rnd of floweret, leave 8 p of floweret on 1st row, join next 2 p with 9th and 10th p, and last 2 p of same floweret with 2 p of 2nd floweret of 1st row, * after 6 p are made on next floweret, leave 6 p of 1st floweret, join next 2 p to 2 p of 1st floweret, join next 2 p with 2 p of 2nd floweret of 1st row, join last 2 p to 2 p of 3rd floweret of 1st row, repeat from * to end of row.

3rd row: Start from right to left, after 10 p are made, leave 2 p of 1st floweret on 2nd row, join next 2 p, * after 6 p are made on next floweret, leave 8 p of 1st floweret, join next 2 p, join next 2 p with last 2 p of 1st floweret of 2nd row, join last 2 p with next 2 p of 2nd floweret. Repeat from * across.

Repeat 2nd and 3rd rows alternately for as many rows as desired.

Add fringe if desired.
