I'M FREE Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free; I took His hand when I heard Him call; I turned my back and left it all. If my parting has left a void; Then fill it with remembered joy. My life's been full, I savored much; Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss; Ah yes, these things, I too, will miss. Perhaps my time seemed all too brief; Don't lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your hearts and share with me; God wanted me now. He set me free. -Author unknown- |

My goal is to raise money for the Breast Cancer Research and Support Center in San Diego's North County as well as provide comfortghans and chemo caps to the Southwest Cancer Center in Escondido California and The Cancer Support Center at Pomerado Hospital in Poway California. If you'd like to make a lapghan, chemo cap or donate yarn for this cause you can contact me at celtwich@aol.com Please put GFTC in the subject line. This is a totally not-for-profit venture. No money will be asked for or accepted at anytime. All lapghans will be auctioned off at fundraising events throughout the year or donated along with chemo caps to various Cancer Support agencies. |

Ghans For The Cure 2004In my first year as Cancer Benefit Fund Coordinator, in partnership with VFW Post 7907 and its Ladies Auxiliary, we raised over $5,000 at the 11th Annual Cancer Benefit Dinner - which included the ticket sales for the Afghan Raffle (The afghan was made by Alexandra Lundgren, of HMB and Crochetlist, generated over $100 in raffle ticket sales), Memorial Cancer Awareness Hearts & Pink Heart pins along with the proceeds from the 1st annual Cancer Kickoff Carnival.
