1 Bucilla Steel Crochet Hook, Size 7, Article 4300.

Gauge: 4 spaces =1 inch, 4 rows=l inch.

PILLOW

Ch 183, for width at lower edge of pillow, follow the general directions for the fruit filet square of Fruit Banquet Cloth but follow the chart for pillow to end, fasten off thread.

BORDER-Working from same side as last row, work 3 s c in first space, 1 s c in top of each of the next 4 d c, 2 s c in next space, 3 s c in each of the next 15 spaces, 1 s c in each of the next 4 d c, 2 s c in next space, 1 s c in each of the next 4 d c, 2 s c in next space, 3 s c in each of the next 15 spaces, 2 s c in next space, 1 s c in each of the next 4 d c, 2 s c in next space, 1 s c in each of the next 4 d c, 3 s c in each of the next 15 spaces, 2 s c in next space, 1 s c in each of the next 4 d c, 6 s c in corner space, working down side of square, work 3 s c in each space and 3 s c to each solid block down side of square, to next corner, work this same as last, then work along remaining 2 sides of square in same way, being careful to have the same number of stitches on each side of square, end with 3 s c in same space that the first 3 s c were worked in, join with a slip st in first s c of round.

2nd round: ch 5, skip 2 sts, 1 d c in next st, * ch 2, skip 2 sts, 1 d c in next st; repeat from * to next corner, ending with 1 d c in corner st, ch 5, 1 more d c in same st, * ch 2, skip 2 sts, 1 d c in next st; repeat from last * to next corner, work this corner same as last, then continue to work around in same way to end of round, end with 1 d c in same place as the first d c, ch 2, join with 1 d c in 3rd st of chain 5 at beginning of round.

3rd round: work 3 s c around the post of last d c made in round below, † 3 s c in each of the next 2 spaces, 4 s c in next space, ch 3, skip next space, 2 s c in next space, 3 s c in each of the next 3 spaces, 2 s c in next space, * ch 3, skip next space, 3 s c in each of the next 3 spaces, 4 s c in next space; repeat from * 7 times, ch 3, skip next space, 2 s c in next space, 3 s c in each of the next 3 spaces, 2 s c in next space, ch 3, skip next space, 3 s c in each of the next 3 spaces, 4 s c in next corner space, ch 3, 3 more s c in same corner space; repeat from † around, working all corners alike, end with 4 s c in same space as the first 3 s c of round, join with a slip st in first s c.

4th round: follow the directions for 4th round of border on Banquet Cloth. Fasten off thread and darn in all ends neatly.
