Make 84 motifs. Cut linen 33 inches square, and make a 1/2 inch hem all around. Sew a strip of 2 x 8 motifs to one side (joining motifs together with neat over-and-over stitches on wrong side). Sew a similar strip to opposite side. Then sew a strip of 2 x 12 motifs to third side, joining last 2 motifs on each side to previous strips. Finish last side in same way. Join 4 motifs to form a square, pin to center of linen, and baste in place. Cut away excess linen, and hem neatly.
