Boye Steel crochet Hook No. 11 or 12.

252 Large Motifs and 221 Small Motifs will make a tablecloth approximately 56 inches by 72 inches.

Each large Motif should measure 4 inches.

LARGE MOTIF

Ch 7, join with slip st to form a ring.

1st round: Ch 3, 15 DC in ring, join with slip st in 3rDCh of ch 3 (16 DC, counting beginning ch 3).

2nd round: Ch 5 (to count as 1 DC and ch 2), * 1 DC in next DC, ch 2, repeat from * 14 times, join with slip st in 3rDCh of ch 5 (16 spaces).

3rd round: Ch 5 (to count as 1 DC and ch 2), 2 DC in next DC, ch 2, 2 DC in same st, ch 2, * 1 DC in next DC, ch 2, 2 DC in next DC, ch 2, 2 DC in same st, ch 2, repeat from * 6 times, join with slip st in 3rDCh of ch 5 (8 groups).

4th round: Ch 5 (to count as 1 DC and Ch 2), 3 DC in 1st ch-2 space of first group, ch 2, 3 DC in same space, ch 2, * 1 DC in next DC, ch 2, 3 DC in ch.2 space of next group, ch 2, 3 DC in same space, ch 2, repeat from * 6 times, join with slip st in 3rDCh of ch 5.

5th round: Ch 6 (to count as 1 DC and ch 3), 4 DC in first ch-2 space of first group, ch 2, 4 DC in same space, ch 3, * 1 DC in next DC, ch 3, 4 DC in ch'2 space of next group, ch 2, 4 DC in same space, ch 3, repeat from * 6 times, join in 3rDCh of ch 6.

3rd round:* Ch 8, join with slip st in corner where motifs are joined, ch 8, skip 1 DC in ring, 1 SC in next DC, ch 8, join with slip st in DC between groups on large motif, ch 8, skip 1 DC in ring, 1 SC in next DC, repeat from * 3 times, join and fasten off.

EDGING

Starting at a point on edge, * 1 SC in ch-2 space, ch 3, slip at in 1st st of ch (picot), 1 SC in each of the next 6 sts, 7 SC over ch-7, 1 SC in next DC, ch-3 picot, 7 SC over next ch-7, 1 SC in each of the next 6 sts, repeat from * around entire edge of tablecloth.
