MATERIALS:

J. & P. COATS or CLARK'S O.N.T. BEST SIX CORD MERCERIZED CROCHET,

Size 30, 1 ball (Small Ball) of White, Ecru or any color.

Steel Crochet Hook No. 10 or 11.

Starting at center, ch 10, join with sl st.

1st rnd: * Ch 4, 2 tr in ring, ch 1, make a p by making ch 5, sc in 5th ch from hook. Ch 1, make 2 p's separated by ch 7, sc in ch between first 2 p's, make a p, ch 2, sl st in last tr, tr in ring, ch 4, sl st in ring. Repeat from * 5 more times. Fasten off.

2nd rnd; Attach thread to a ch-7 loop, ch 4, in same loop make 3 tr, ch 5 and 4 tr. * Ch 5, in next ch-7 loop make 4 tr, ch 5 and 4 tr. Repeat from * around. Join last ch-5 with sl st to top st of ch-4.

3rd rnd: Ch 4, tr in next 3 tr, * in next sp make 3 tr, ch 5 and 3 t, tr in next 4 tr, ch 5, sc in next sp, ch 5, tr in next 4 tr. Repeat from * around. Join.

4th rnd: Ch 4, tr in next 6 tr, sf in next sp make 3 tr, ch 5 and 3 tr, tr in next 14 tr. Repeat from * around. Join.

5th rnd: Ch 4, tr in next 6 tr, * ch 2, skip 2 tr, tr in next tr, (ch 2, tr in sp) twice; ch 3, in same sp make tr, ch 2 and tr. Ch 2, tr in next tr, ch 2, skip 2 tr, tr in next 14 tr. Repeat from * around. Join.

6th rnd: Ch 4, tr in next 3 tr, '' ch 2, skip 2 tr, tr in next tr, (ch 2, tr in next tr) 3 times; ch 2, in ch-3 sp make tr, ch 3 and tr. (Ch 2, tr in next tr) 4 times; ch 2, skip 2 tr, tr in next 8 tr. Repeat from * around. Join.

7th rnd: Ch 4, tr in next tr, * ch 2, skip 1 tr, tr in next tr, (ch 2, tr in next tr) 5 times; ch 2, in ch-3 sp make tr, ch 2 and tr. (Ch 2, tr in next tr) 6 times; ch 2, skip 1 tr, holding back on hook the last loop of each tr make tr in next 4 tr, thread over and draw through all loops on hook (cluster is made). Repeat from * around, ending with a 2-tr cluster over last 2 tr, sl st in 1st tr made.

8th rnd: Sl st in next 2 ch and the following tr, ch 7, * (tr in next tr, ch 2) 5 times; (dc in next tr, ch 2) twice; (tr in next tr, ch 2) 5 times; (d tr in next tr, ch 2) twice. Repeat from * around. Join with sl st to 5th st of ch-7.

9th rnd: Ch 7 and make tr in each tr, dc or d tr, making ch 3 between tr's. Join to 4th st of ch-7.

10th rnd: Ch 7 and tr in each tr around with ch-3 between tr's. Join.

11th rnd: Sc in same place as sl st, * ch 3, 2 tr in sp, (ch 1, p) twice; ch 7, p, sc in ch between first 2 p's, make another p, ch 2, sl st in last tr made, tr in same sp as last tr was made, ch 3, sc in next tr, 3 sc in each of next 2 sps, sc in next tr. Repeat from * around. Join and fasten off.

12th rnd: Attach thread to a ch-7 loop, ch 4, in same loop make 4 tr, ch 5 and 5 tr. In each ch-7 loop around make 5 tr, ch 5 and 5 tr. Sl st in top st of ch-4.

13th rnd: Ch 4, tr in next 4 tr, * in next sp make 3 tr, 3 p's and 3 tr, tr in next 5 tr, skip next 5 tr, in next sp make (sc, p) 3 times and sc. Skip next 5 tr, tr in next 5 tr. Repeat from * around. Join and fasten off.
