Materials: BEST Six CORD MERCERIZED CROCHET, Size 30: Small Ball: 2 balls

Steel Crochet Hook No. 10 or 11.

Doily measures about 18 inches in diameter.

Ch 10, join with sl st. 1st rnd: Ch 6, * tr in ring, ch 2. Repeat from * 10 more times; join to 4th st of ch-6 (12 sps).

2nd rnd: Ch 4 (to count as tr), 3 tr in sp, * tr in tr, 3 tr in sp. Repeat from * around. Join to top of ch-4 (48 tr).

3rd rnd: Ch 9, skip 2 tr, * tr in next tr, ch 5, skip 2 tr. Repeat from * around. Join to 4th st of ch-9 (16 sps).

4th rnd: Ch 4, tr in next 5 ch, * tr in tr, tr in next 5 ch. Repeat from * around. Join.

5th rnd: Ch 12, * skip 5 tr, tr in next tr, ch 8. Repeat from * around. Join to 4th st of ch-12.

6th rnd: Sl st in sp, ch 4, 7 tr in same sp; * ch 2, 8 tr in next sp. Repeat from * around, ending with ch 2, join (16 groups of 8 tr with ch-2 between).

7th rnd: Ch 4, tr in next 7 tr, * ch 3, skip 2 ch, tr in each tr of next 8-tr group. Repeat from * around, ending with ch 3, join.

8th rnd: Ch 4, tr in next 7 tr, * ch 4, skip ch-3, tr in each tr of next tr-group. Repeat from * around, ending with ch 4, join.

9th rnd: Turn and sl st into last ch of previous rnd, ch 15, turn, * skip 8-tr group, tr in each of next 4ch, ch 11. Repeat from * around, ending with tr in last 3 ch, join to 4th st of ch-15.

10th rnd: Ch 10, * 2 sc in loop, ch 6, tr in each tr of 4-tr group, ch 6. Repeat from * around, ending with 2 sc in loop, ch 6, tr in each of next 3 tr, join to 4th ch of ch-10.

11th rnd: Ch 16, * skip ch-6, the 2 sc and the ch-6; make tr in each tr of 4-tr group, ch 12. Repeat from * around, ending with tr in each of next 3 tr, join to 4th st of ch-16.

12th rnd: Sl st in next ch, ch 4, tr in next 11 ch, * ch 5, skip 4 tr, tr in next 12 ch. Repeat from * around, ending with ch 5, join.

13th rnd: Ch 4, holding back on hook the last loop of each tr make tr in next 3 tr, thread over and draw through all loops on hook (a cluster); tr in each of next 4 tr; holding back on hook the last loop of each tr make a tr in next 4 tr, complete a cluster as before. * Ch 13, skip ch-5, 4-tr cluster over next 4 tr, tr in each of next 4 tr, 4-tr cluster over last 4 tr. Repeat from * around, ending with ch 13, join to tip of 1st cluster.

14th rnd: Ch 11, * skip 4 tr, tr in tip of next cluster, ch 3, skip 3 ch, tr in next ch, ch 7, skip 5 ch, tr in next ch, ch 3, skip 3 ch, tr in tip of next cluster, ch 7. Repeat from * around, ending with ch 3, join to 4th ch of ch-11.

15th rnd: Ch 6, * tr in ch-7 sp, ch 2, tr in same sp, ch 2, tr in tr, ch 3, tr in next tr, ch 2. Repeat from * around, ending with ch 3, join to 4th ch of ch-6.

16th rnd: Turn and sl st in last ch-3 of previous rnd, ch 11, turn, skip 1 sp, * d tr in next sp, ch 6, skip 1 sp. Repeat from * around, ending with ch 6, join to 5th ch of ch-11.

17th rnd: Ch 11, * d tr in d tr, ch 6. Repeat from * ending with ch 6, sl st in 5th ch of ch-11.

18th rnd: Sl st in sp, ch 7, * tr in same sp, ch 3, tr in next sp, ch 3. Repeat from * around, ending with ch 3, join to 4th ch of ch-7.

19th rnd: Sl st to top of next tr, ch 6, * dc in next tr, ch 15, skip 2 tr, dc in next tr, ch 3. Repeat from * around, ending with ch 15, join to 3rd ch of ch-6.

20th rnd: Sl st in next 2 ch, ch 8, * skip dc and 5 ch, 3 tr in next ch; tr in each of next 3 ch, 3 tr in next ch (9 tr in group). Ch 5, skip 5 ch and the dc, dc in center ch of ch-3 sp, ch 5. Repeat from * around, ending with ch 5, join to 3rd ch of ch-8.

21st rnd: Sl st to top of 1st tr, ch 3 (to count as dc), dc in each of 8 tr, * ch 11, dc in each of 9 tr. Repeat from * around, ending with ch 11, join to top of ch-3.

22nd rnd: Ch 4 (to count as tr), holding back on hook the last loop of each tr make tr in next 2 dc; complete cluster as before. * Tr in next 3 dc; then make a 3-tr cluster over next 3 dc. Ch 6, dc in center ch of next loop, ch 6, 3-tr cluster over next 3 dc. Repeat from *, ending with ch 6, join to tip of 1st cluster; turn.

23rd rnd: Sl st in next 6 ch, turn, ch 17, * skip the tr-group; dc in ch preceding next dc, ch 3, skip dc, dc in next ch, ch 14. Repeat from * around, ending with ch 3, join to 3rd st of ch-17.

24th rnd: Turn and sl st in last ch-3 of previous rnd, ch 8, turn, * skip dc and 4 ch, 3 tr in next ch, tr in each of next 4 ch, 3 tr in next ch (10-tr group). Ch 5, dc in center ch of ch-3 sp, ch 5. Repeat from * around, ending with ch 5, join to 3rd ch of ch-8.

25th rnd: Repeat 21st rnd, making 10 dc in each group (instead of 9) and ch-13 loops (instead of ch-11).

26th rnd: Repeat 22nd rnd, making 1 more tr in each group and ch-7 (instead of ch-6). Join and turn.

27th rnd: Sl st in next 7 ch, turn, ch 20 (to count as dc and ch-17), turn and work in pattern as for 23rd rnd, making ch-17 loops (instead of ch-14).

28th rnd: Turn and sl st in last ch-3 of previous rnd, ch 9, turn, skip 5 ch and work in pattern as for 24th rnd, having 11 tr in each group (instead of 10 tr) and making ch 6 (instead of ch 5). Join.

29th rnd: Repeat 21st rnd, making 11 dc in each group (instead of 9), and ch-13 loops (instead of ch-11).

30th rnd: Repeat 22nd rnd, making 2 more tr's in each group, and ch 7 instead of ch 6. Join to tip of 1st cluster.

31st rnd: Ch 12, * skip 5 tr, d tr in tip of next cluster, ch 7, dc in next sp, ch 3, dc in next sp, ch 7, d tr in tip of next cluster, ch 7. Repeat from * around, ending with ch 7, sl st in 5th st of ch-12.

32nd rnd: Sl st in next 2 ch, ch 9, dc in 6th ch from hook, tr in same sp. * (Ch 5, dc in last tr, tr in same sp as last tr) twice; dc in next sp; (ch 2, dc in same sp) twice; ch 2, sc in next sp, ch 2, dc in next sp; (ch 2, dc in same sp) twice; tr in next sp, ch 5, dc in last tr, tr in same sp as last tr.
