Doily measures 17 inches in diameter.

Starting at center, ch 4. Join with sl st to form ring.

First rnd: Ch 4, holding back on hook the last loop of each tr, make 2 tr in ring, thread over and draw through all loops on hook (cluster made); (ch 5, 3-tr cluster in ring) 7 times. Join last ch 5 to tip of first cluster.

2nd rnd: Sl st in next 2 ch, ch 4, in same loop make (dc, ch 1) twice and dc; * ch 1, in next loop make (dc, ch 1) 3 times and dc. Repeat from * around. Join last ch 1 to 3rd ch of ch-4.

3rd rnd: Sl st in next sp, sc in same sp, * (ch 1, sc in next sp) twice; ch 5, skip dc, ch 1 and dc, sc in next ch-1 sp. Repeat from * around. Join.

4th rnd: Sl st across to ch-5 loop, sl st in. loop, ch 4, 2-tr cluster in loop, * ch 5, sl st in 3rd ch from hook (picot), ch 2, in same loop make 3-tr cluster, ch 2, picot, ch 2 and 3-tr cluster; cluster in next loop. Repeat from * around. Join.

5th rnd: Ch 10, * tr in tip of next cluster, ch 6. Repeat from * around. Join to 4th ch of ch-10.

6th rnd: Ch 12, * d tr in next tr, ch 7. Repeat from * around. Join to 5th ch of ch-12.

7th rnd: Sl st in next 2 ch, ch 4, in same loop make (dc, ch 1) 4 times and dc; * ch 1, in next loop make (dc, ch 1) 5 times and dc. Repeat from * around. Join to 3rd ch of ch-4.

8th rnd: Sl st in next sp, sc in same sp, * (ch 1, sc in next sp) 4 times; ch 5, skip dc, ch 1 and dc, sc in next sp. Repeat from * around. Join.

9th rnd: Sl st across to rd sc of previous rnd, ch 9, tr in same sc, * in next ch-5 loop make (3-tr cluster, ch 2, picot, ch 2) twice and 3-tr cluster; in 3rd sc of next sc group make tr, ch 5 and tr. Repeat from * around. Join to 5th ch of ch-9.

10th rnd: Sl st in next 3 ch, ch 11, * tr in tip of center cluster of next cluster group, ch 7, tr between next 2 tr, ch 7. Repeat from * around. Join last ch 7 to 4th ch of ch-11.

11th rnd: Ch 12, * tr in next tr, ch 8. Repeat from * around. Join last ch 8 to 4th ch of ch-12.

12th rnd: Ch 14, * d tr in next tr, ch 9. Repeat from * around. Join to 5th ch of ch-14.

13th and 14th rnds: Repeat 7th and 8th rnds. Turn at end of 14th rnd and sl st in last 5 ch. Turn.

15th rnd: Ch 4, 2-tr cluster in same loop, ch 5 and work as for 4th rnd. Join last cluster to tip of first cluster. Turn, sl st between last and first clusters. Turn.

16th rnd: Ch 11, * tr in center cluster of next cluster group, ch 6, d tr between cluster groups, ch 6. Repeat from * around. Join last ch 6 to 5th ch of ch-11.

17th rnd: Ch 11, * tr in next tr, ch 7, tr in next d tr, ch 7. Repeat from * around. Join.

18th rnd: Ch 12, " tr in next tr, ch 8. Repeat from * around. Join.

19th rnd: Ch 14, * d tr in next tr, ch 9. Repeat from * around. Join.

RUFFLE . . . 20th rnd: Repeat 7th rnd.

21st rnd: Sl st in next sp, ch 7, * tr in next sp, ch 3. Repeat from * around. Join to 4th ch of ch-7.

22nd rnd: Ch 8, * tr in next tr, ch 4. Repeat from * around. Join.

23rd and 24th rnds: Work as for 22nd rnd, having 1 ch more in each sp on each rnd.

25th rnd: Ch 12, * d tr in next tr, ch 7. Repeat from * around. Join.

26th rnd: Repeat 7th rnd. Join and break off. Starch lightly and press.
