Things to consider when doing some
strategic planning for any organization:
1. Understand the environment within which you will function.
o What is the environment that we are working within?
o Who are the stakeholders/interested parties?
o What are the objectives of the other stakeholders?
2. Define what the IDEAL TOMMORROW
o In the ideal world where there are no limits placed on what lies ahead, what would this “organization” be doing? For who? How?
3. TODAY’S REALITY
o What are some of the positive, negative considerations?
o What actions can be done as to achieve the IDEAL TOMMORROW
4. TOMMORROW’S REALITY
o Define a statement of where you want the organization to be at a certain point in time
o Then Develop objectives to help achieve your vision
5. Implementation Plan
o What will be the communication plan? How will it be positioned?
o What are the specific actions? Deliverables? Dates? Responsibility?
