What is Cajun French?
Cajun French is a dialect of French spoken in Louisiana. The Grand Dérangement of 1755 forced Acadians to leave their homes in eastern Canada. Many of them settled in Louisiana and their French language gradually evolved into what we now call Cajun French. The word "cajun" comes from «acadien.»
