Banjos - Crafters of Tennessee TNW - Gold Tone RB250F - A Washburn with "the bluegrass ripped out of it" I try to keep an open mind as things cycle around me...a turvy of events, people, impressions, song lines, voices, accidents, understandings, visions....I try to absurb all things....I try to view all sides....and through these experiences, occurrances, happenings... certain things seem to cling on to me...entice my soul....stir my curiosity...such as the banjo...mountains...southern west virginia....bluegrass and acoustic music...folklore ...art...knowledge...god...trees...fishing... rivers...creeks ...love...laughter... kindness... and much more. Sometimes I can't seem to settle down. The ringing of banjos, fiddles, mandolins and lonesome singing draws me out my door....I go looking for those friends...the ones that love acoustic music as much as I do.....we hang out for hours....playing those old tunes...learning new ones. Music is an adventure...a journey....and I really like the path Billy Goat Gruff is on...a strong foundation in roots music...but exploring...discovering...happening! Here are lists of things that...at this time...seem important to me. Books One Hundred Years of Solitude - Gabriel Garcia Marquez A Moveable Feast - Ernest Hemingway Walden - Henry David Thoreau Bound for Shady Grove - Steven Harvey Cold Mountain - Charles Frazier Visual Artists The German Expressionists (most importantly the print makers) Max Beckman Lyonel Felninger Erich Heckel Kathe Kollwitz Frans Masereel Musicians - Bands Bob Dylan Woody Guthrie Earl Scruggs Wilco Beatles Miles Davis Jug Band Music Blue Highway Johnny Cash Tim O'Brien and many others!
