Revell Civic Si

One of my most recent completions, this is Revell's new Honda Civic Si. I built it to replicate my 1:1 Civic SiR (which is the Canadian equivalent for the Civic Si). The wheels are from the Revell Integra Type R. They look very similar to the ones that were on my SiR when I bought it in February 2002. Paint is Tamiya TS-8 Italian Red straight from the can with only minor polishing. The interior is a custom mix of Tamiya Semi Gloss black and Sky Grey bottle paints. The floor is flocked as well, with a matching mix of black and grey flocking.
This is a pretty nice kit, except for the screws that are used to hold the chassis and body together. The window unit is also a big problem, but the solution is easy: I simlply cut one of the rear quarter windows off and mounted the two pieces separately without a problem. The bumpers are difficult to get sitting right, but with some strong glue and half an hour of holding it in place, it will stay. Engine detail is superb, and I can predict that this engine will find its way into a huge variety of Hondas on modelers' work benches.
Here are some progress pics as well as a few of the finished product. Some pics show two Civics in the works, the second of which was to go to my (now ex-) girlfriend. They were supposed to be built identically, but now the second one has been put on the back burner.
