my paintings. I find it satisfying to have control over all the details in my work. When I shoot footage

with my Hi-8 camera or take photographs it is always with the intention of finding an image I can paint.

My recent paintings reflect my interest in capturing single frames from my own movies and documented

subjects. Looking at my work, it becomes evident that I am taken with distinct color combinations. I

usually take separate photos specifically to capture colors that I later apply to my images. At the moment

I am focusing on one painting at a time, keeping in mind how that piece fits within a larger grouping. I

find it important that some of my paintings are able to stand on their own while other pieces need to be

seen in context with more work. I will continue to further investigate the relationships between video,
