The Official Tour De Court Web Page

Tour De Court (TDC) is a two-on-two basketball tournament at various sites in Pikesville Maryland. Players must ride on bicycle from court to court in order to participate (although some forget this rule).

  TDC VII Highlights

After an exhuasting 2 days of biking, barbecuing and BBall, the gold helmet of the 7th annual tour de court belongs to Sir Jonathan Rosenblatt and Elnatan (Verizner Wireless) Reisner. Rosenblatt and Reisner defeated Chanaan Weisman and Jon Plaut 4-1 in the best of seven championship series. For Yoni, the tournament MVP, the victory marked his 3rd consecutive title at this fabulous tournament, but he could not have gotten there without the brilliant play of Reisy (named the Tournament's most improved player). The champions survived the first day despite losing their first game to Noam and Neuman. Facing elimination, Reisner surprisingly led a furious comeback against Bergs and Burkom as he dropped in 12 big ones in their 22-20 victory. However, the second day was a breeze for this gritty team. In the elite eight they handily defeated the tired team of Josh Wolf and Joe Rombro and swept Steiny and Bendicoff 2-0 in the final four. They cruised through the first three games of the finals before dropping a close one in game 4. But demolished the smaller duo to take the crown in game 5. Weisman and Plaut advanced to the finals after receiving a forfeit victory in the elite eight (as a result of Neuman's broken wrist)and a 2 games to one semifinals victory against the scrappy team of Guttenberg and Spiegler.

 Tourney highlights and thoughts:

(1) It took Pool A (Wolf/Rombro, Kraft/Ted Minkove/Minkove) three rounds (six games per team) to determine who would advance to the second day. In the end it was the survival of the fittest as I (Jon Minkove) had nothingleft in the tank to pull out the elusive victory.

(2) The what if question was buzzing at the wolf's today as players pondered what would have been had Neuman not broken his wrist. Michael Neuman sustained the injury in the middle of his team's second victory on day one. Neuman and teammate Noam Weisman were the only team to defeat the champs(until a meaningless game 4 of the finals) and a rematch could have been extremely entertaining.

(3) Tournament rookies such as Guts and Spiegler seemed elated to join the TDC family and it is wonderful that we were able to expand to bring in such new guys.

(4) The consensus seems to be that TDC VII was the most well organized and successful tournament ever. To this we owe a debt of gratitude to Commissioner Ewing (Ariel Wolf).

* ***On behalf of the other founding fathers I would like to thank all the participants, hosts, and organizers. As we get older we face many challenges and uncertainties, but every summer we all know that there is this one beautiful constant in our lives that brings us all together and distances ourselves from the daily grind. It is my hope that we maintain this splendid tradition for years to come.*** ***Please check this website for all TDC news and highlights.
