The Tallahassee Tide will NOT be playing at the Leon County Civic Center.
Differences between team owner Bill Coffey and the LCCC could not be addressed by the 5:00 PM (ET) deadline set for Wednesday, August 14, 2002, by Ron Spencer.
Channel 27 confirmed the news during a very unprofessional broadcast.
"We want to thank the hockey fans of Tallahassee for their early ticket sales support," said Coffey. "Lack of support certainly wasn't the reason Tallahassee will not be operating this season. It simply came down to a lack of playing and practice time. It's a busy arena that probably doesn't need professional hockey at this time."
All season ticket deposits were refunded in full.

Don't count on it. While the WHA2 has made some advances toward returning professional ice hockey to the Leon County Civic Center, the chances of that happening remain slim.
