Frozen, trembling in trepidation,
Anticipating the next motion,
Never knowing what the next second brings.
A sound in the distance,
The heart stops beating,
The lungs collapse.
Nothing is safe now.
The pack attacks,
And they devour their victim.
This is me,
Frozen and dead in my own body,
Without meaning, without strength.
Shredded by the pack,
Yet my soul moves on to find peace,
With or without those I once loved most.
