A new year has begun, and due to the events of 2001, we have a completely different world to live in. For me , music has become even more important than before. We songsmiths and artists now have even more of a responsibility to provide an outlet for people to feel. It seems that it's no longer possible to go through our day to day lives without thinking or feeling anything, because we realize that each day may be our last. So I'm loving my wife a little bit better, I'm holding my son just a little bit tighter, and the words that I write have just a little bit more meaning.
I want to thank all of the people who have taken the time to visit my MP3 site (mp3.com/Scotty_Wade) this past year. It's my New Years resolution this year to provide some new material on the site. I also want to thank my wife, Michelle, for giving me her undying support and loving me no matter what. I also want to say thanks to all the friends who helped me develop my "live karaoke" shows that I will be throwing out around central Florida this year. Thanks also go out to Anders Rasmussen, an Austin, Texas songwriter/performer who has developed a weekly newsletter entitled IFS or Inspirations For Songwriters.
Some things that I will accomplish in the year 2002 include: Recording a new CD of original songs and placing it on my MP3 site. Working a couple of nights a week with my live karaoke show. Writing a song that is lasting and meaningful, whether it's a patriotic song or something different. It's time for me to try something that's not so much "me" oriented. Lastly, I want to become a member of the International Songwriters' Group in Orlando and the Orange Blossom Country Music Association here in New Port Richey. This comes from the fact that I have been trying to get one of my songs recorded for over twenty years, all on my own, and have accomplished this exactly "0" times. I need help from people who know how. So Happy New Year everyone! May 2002 be a great year for all of us!

Scotty teaches beginning and intermediate guitar, and has written tunes performed by Bob Purcell and the Outriders of Greeley, Colorado.
He has a beautiful wife, Michelle, and three sons, Joey, Chris and Wade. Michelle is a very talented artist, and designs crafts and jewelry that is creative and beautiful. She is Scotty's most honest critic and also his biggest supporter.
