WeCare Rottweiler Rescue, Inc. has a strong desire to give back to the community,
as we are dog lovers and protectors of abused, neglected and abandon dogs.
We invited a K-9 officer to attend one of our events to demonstrate the K-9 officer
in action. It was then, we learned the old K-9 vest were to hot and heavy for the
K-9 officers to wear here in Florida. With that in mind, we felt a strong need to
investigate and find a better method of vest for the community’s K-9 officers.

We learned many county or city budgets could not afford new vest. WeCare
Rottweiler Rescue, Inc. had a mission and that was to sponsor and raise funds for
new vest. Realizing the K-9s are often sent in first, the bulletproof vests would
protect them on dangerous calls. We contacted a company in West Palm Beach for
assistance in our mission. New and improved vest were being designed and made.
A "Lighter" vest with a "cool pack" to last 8 hours. The company agreed to work
with us in providing the K-9 officers in need of vest.

We open a separate bank account for “Vest for K-9 Cops”, at the Prosperity Bank
in Deland. Placed collection jars in and around the community of Volusia county.
Each week we would collect the donations in the jars, then deposit 100% of all the
donation into the account. Once we reached the amount needed to order a vest,
we would contact the vest company. The company would then notify the department
in need of a vest, so they could measure the K-9 officer for a custom fit.

WeCare Rottweiler Rescue Inc., has raised funds to purchase 4 new K-9 cool pack
vest. Our goal is to continue this fundraiser effort until every K-9 Officer has a
protective vest. These K-9 Officers give up their lives to protect the human officer,
it is the least we can do for their loyalty to the community.

To date, we have purchased (5) K-9 Vest. Two Vest the Deland Police Department
2 Vest for the Fish & Wildlife Department.
1 for the Volusia County Sheriff - Deltona Division.

100% of all donations buy these vest for the K-9 Cops. If you would like to donate
