Pastor Martin was born and raised in the  New Jersey. He attended Union College , Cranford New Jersey, Zion Bible College E. Providence RI., and Central Bible College in Springfield Missouri. He began in active Ministry in 1982, pioneering Calvary Assembly of God in Fordland, Missouri. From there he pastored in Salisbury Center, New York,  Gowanda, New York, and here at Praise. He was licensed  to preach  in 1983 and ordained in 1985 with the Assemblies of God, Southern Missouri District. And  has served as Youth Rep, Springfield Section, Missions Rep, Western Section, New York District. Also serving 5 years as Principal of Gowanda Christian Academy while also  the Senior Pastor there. Pastor Martin founded the Niagara Frontier Christian Athletic Association in western New York. He now serves as the Chaplain for the Spring Hill Fire Rescue in Spring Hill, Florida.  Having received his CISM  certification there.

Each leader is carefully and prayerfully screened to be sure they are in their rightful place in the body. Every leader is held to a very clear Biblical pattern of life conduct. Scripture reminds us it is required of a steward that they be found faithful. Eph4 speaks of the constant on going growth of a believer until we all come together in the fullness and unity of the Word of God. We seek to minister to every age level and group in the body, bringing about a balanced ministry.

Their key role is to give oversight to the  "Care-Net Ministry of the church. They also serve to assist the Pastor as requested with such things as Water Baptisms, anointing for prayer, and altar service times. God has blessed our church with men who love the Lord and His church. The Elders assist in advising on spiritual life matters and are a faithful and steady source of counsel to the Pastor.

Taking our lead from the pages of Old and New Testament Scripture

• Our church is set up on a Biblical Theocratic pattern, where Gods Will & His Word is always the center of our focus.

• The Senior Pastor serves as the over seer of the church appointed by God and confirmed in the body.

• We have Elders who assist our Pastor. Their chief function is over the "Care Net Ministry". They also serve when needed in giving counsel and guidance to our Pastor.

• The body annually selects and presents to the Pastor those who serve as Deacons. The deacons give direction to specific administrative areas in the church, to lessen the load on the Pastoral Leadership.

• The Body Members - Each one, we believe sent by God with a specific role to fill in  the church body. While the Pastor is to Equip the saints for the work of Ministry, we are to actively carry out the work that the Lord has assigned us as a church.

         Servants to the Lord & His body.... 

In keeping with Acts chapter 6, each year the church body brings those men who fulfilled the scriptural qualifications of a deacon to the Pastor for approval and they are then confirmed by a vote of the church body at the annual Direction meeting. These men are elected to serve the Lord and His church. Each man is assigned by the Pastor specific areas of responsibility to assist in the  administrative load of the church. These men are also used in water baptisms and other spiritual areas of responsibility. Our Deacons are Herb Yaekel, Tom Meadows, and David Martin.

Jesus said, if you have done it unto the least of these  my brethren you  have done it unto me  .....
