Citrus Springs is a small but growing community in the hot real estate market, located in Citrus County about 1.5 to 2 hours north of Tampa. Hi, I'm Andrea and my family and I have moved to Citrus Springs from the Orlando area in October 05. My hopes are that this site will be informative and helpful to some that are looking to move to this area. Life here is a bit different, much slower than the big city life. Technology quite hasn't caught up here yet, but the beauty of this area makes up for not having all the conveniences.
There are quite a few things to do in and around Citrus Springs and Citrus County. Located at the Nature Coast of Florida, the Rainbow River and Withlacoochee River are close by in serene and tranquil old town Dunnellon. Fishing, boating and tubing are some favorite activities here in the summer time. Swimming and snorkeling is available in many of the springs here, such as at Rainbow Springs. Besides swimming at the springs, two public pools are located in Citrus County for your swimming pleasure. One in Crystal River, at Bicentennial Park and the other in Inverness at Whispering Pines Park. Golfing is just one more thing available at nearby towns within the county and many enjoy riding their bikes along the Withlacoochee Trail.
