NAACP is a civil rights organization which was founded in 1909, in New York City, in response to increasing violence against African Americans in all parts of the country. Although the NAACP has changed very much from its original formation it stills actively fight for the rights of African Americans and other minorities.
The St. Petersburg Youth Chapter of the NAACP offers the chance
to participate in a number of diverse activities. As a member of
the Youth Council you can serve yourself and your community.
You will have the opportunity to participate in social and
educational activities. Some of this activities include: trips to
amusement parks, movies and dinners, out door retreats, trips to
museums, leadership workshop, African American enrichment programs,
and work with Color Me Human.

Some of the benefits include scholarships for college, the opportunity to meet new people
through the many regional and national conferences held by the NAACP
and many resume' building experiences.
Meetings are held every second
and fourth Mondays at our Headquarters, 1501 16th Street South
at 6:30pm
