This is my grave marker. The inscription reads,

"Our child, Austin's mom, now in Heaven she lives in our hearts forever."

The picture etched into black granite is of Austin and me, during a trip to the beach.

Laurie Kimberlyn Clements Ball

Kim C. BallI need your help. The last day I was seen alive was June 10, 1999. My car was found, untouched, at my clients home on Osceola Drive (I owned my own business cleaning homes) in the Holiday Isle area of Destin. My body was found two days later in a drainage ditch off County Road 393, near the south shore of Choc-tawhatchee Bay.The Okaloosa County Sheriff's Department is searching to obtain evidence on the person that took my life.

"Our Kim" - A tribute written by her mother.

I was last seen wearing black gym shorts, having double white stripes down the sides, and a white tank top with "SCOOBY DOO" written on the front in large letters.

A LETTER TO MY KILLER - Please pass this link on to everyone you know.

Recently divorced, I had custody of my only child, who turned seven two days after my body was found, two days before my funeral. I had planned a birthday party for my son at a nearby water park. It was his only wish for his birthday. Due to my killer's timing, my son did not get to have his birthday party. Now, and for the rest of his life, he will associate my death with his birthday. Instead of hearing birthday songs he heard my eulogy.

My son, my mother and father, my younger sister, my granny, all my aunts and uncles, all my great-aunts and -uncles, my great-grandmother, and all my cousins need your help as well. While not seeking revenge, they do want to see a murderer taken off the street and judged for his crime, and that punishment will be dealt according to the statutes of the State of Florida. Their prayers are that the killer will be caught. However, their hopes of this happening are starting to dim, as time goes by.

The detectives with the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Department need your help. They are asking anyone that saw anything or know anything about my death to contact them. Without this information, my killer will remain free, out on the streets. He may murder again. To avoid that possibility, he must be detained. If you saw anything, maybe a vehicle near where my body was found, or you saw me in someone's vehicle, or someone that acted strangely while driving in the area around the time of my death, maybe you witnessed the crime and were threatened with the same fate if you spoke with anyone. Call and tell the investigators what you saw. If you do not, the man that took my life will walk free for the rest of his life. He may come after you, or your child. Get this man off the street, once and for all. It is your duty to yourself, your family, and your community.

PLEASE CALL, for my sake, my family's sake, and for your sake. Reward money is being offered to anyone with information leading to a conviction.

Please call Investigator Tom Bowman of the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Department at (850) 609-2000. Or you may call any of the Crime Stoppers listed below:
