THE ZILLIONAIRES VII

(Dinosaur Trouble)

Ryan and his brother Keith were in their park, which had living dinosaurs. Ryan and Keith had found them through a time portal in a cave 600 feet deep below Lake Superior.

Keith had asked his brother if he wanted to explore the bottom of the lake and Ryan said yes. A few days latter they flew up to Lake Superior with the special equipment and got a super boat. Ryan drove it out to the middle of the lake and they hooked up the equipment. Keith used the crane and lowered the Z-9000 submarine into the blue water. Keith turned on the sensory projector and measured the depth of the lake. Keith set the pressurizer for the same depth as the lake. He didn’t turn it on yet. Keith and Ryan put on their scuba suits, masks, and air tanks and went into the large submarine. Ryan turned on the pressurizer. It didn’t take long to descend to the bottom of the freshwater lake. Ryan opened the hatch at the bottom of the submarine and jumped into the water. Keith followed. The water was dark and as cold as ice. They swam around and Keith discovered a cave. He turned on his lights and the two brothers went in. It went straight for about 50 yards and then up. Keith and Ryan went up and their necks were level with water line!

"We’ve discovered a secret cave!" Keith exclaimed. "Wow!" said Ryan.

They looked around and saw a glowing blue wall!

"Whoa!" Keith shouted.

"W-what is that thing?" asked Ryan.

"I don’t know!"

They climbed onto the ground and slowly walked towards it. When they got to the blue glowing wall, Keith stuck his hand out and touched it. There was no feeling and his hand went through it!

"What’s going on here?" asked Keith.

"I don’t know, but it might be some sort of portal. It could lead to different times and spaces for all we know. I say we cautiously go into it."

"After you."

"Wimp."

Keith pulled his hand out and stuck his face in. On the other side there were dinosaurs everywhere! He quickly removed his face from the portal.

"Hey Ryan? There’s dinosaurs all over the place in that thing! It’s another world!" Keith said.

"Let me see!"

Ryan looked and saw them.

"Do you think that we could capture them?" Ryan asked.

"Are you serious?! These things are deadly. Very deadly."

"We could use our special equipment. Besides, dinosaurs haven’t been around for thousands of years! This is a great scientific discovery! Maybe the all-time greatest! We could be famous!"

"I hate to bust your bubble, but we’re about as famous as it gets. If we do get these dinosaurs, people will want to take them and kill them for experiments and things. I know! Let’s build a park and keep them there! Then people could see live dinosaurs. It will be like a zoo!"

"Where do you get such great ideas, Keith?"

And that’s what happened to the dinosaurs in the portal. Keith and Ryan had gotten a lot of every type of dinosaur that they could find, except for the flying ones.

The different dinosaurs had their own areas. The fences that were around them were electrified with 60,000 volts.

It had only taken Ryan and Keith 4 months to build the park, get the dinosaurs, and put up ads for it.

On the first day, a group of 12 tourists came together. There were 4 men, 3 women, 3 boys, a girl, and a baby.

Keith helped the people get into the cars on the road that went through the park. The cars ran on electric tracks in the middle of the road.

Keith turned on the cars from inside of the Main Compound. It had a Dining Hall, Restrooms, a Kitchen, an Information Room, a Souvenir Shop, and a Control Room. That’s where Keith and Ryan were at that time.

Sparks shot out of the connectors under the cars as they started up. As they passed through the huge, wooden, gate, a sign welcomed the tourists. It said,

Welcome To

DINOSAUR WORLD

The home of the only dinosaurs on earth!

The cars slowly went through the park stopping at each dinosaur pen for a few minutes while the tourists watched the dinosaurs in awe. A pre-recorded voice speaker told the tourists about each dinosaur. They went by over 20 different types of dinosaurs. The dinosaurs were in alphabetical order. The tourists went by the Allosauruses, Ankylosauruses, Bradysauruses, Brontosauruses, Camptosauruses, Compsognathuses, Dimetrodons, Diplodocuss, Duckbill Dinosaurs, Hadrosaurs, Iguanadons, Nodosauruses, Pachycephalosauruses, Palaeoscincuses, Pentaceratops, Plateosauruses, Podokesauruses, Protoceratops, Psittacosaurus, Stegosauruses, Struthiomimuses, Styracosauruses, and the Triceratops before they finally came to the Tyrannosaurus Rex area. After that were the Velociraptors.

Keith watched the people though his monitor. He had rigged up hundreds of video cameras around the park on the road, in the cars, in the trees, in the pens, and in the buildings. He could see every single place in the park, even where there was nothing. In the Control Room, two of the walls were covered in monitors.

Now Keith was going to feed the T-Rex in front of all the people. He pressed a button marked "T-Rex Feeder" and turned off the car so that it stayed at the T-Rex pen.

In the pen, a rectangular hole about the size of a door opened and a platform lifted up out of it. On it was a sheep chained to a metal pole.

"All right! He’s gonna get eaten alive!" shouted one of the boys in second car.

The dinosaur roared and ran up to the sheep. He looked at it for a moment and then sunk his sharp teeth into it. Blood splurted out of the holes and the dinosaur yanked the sheep off of the chain. The chain was strong, and it was tied around the sheep’s neck. When the T-Rex pulled the sheep, it head ripped off and it’s back bone tore right out of the animal’s back with a sickening shredding sound and the cracking of ribs. It’s flesh on it’s back got ripped and shredded. The blood and intestines went all over the ground near the area of the killing.

One of the tourists puked out of the window at the sight.

Keith and Ryan saw the whole thing and laughed. When the tour was over, the tourists went to the Souvenir Shop and bought lots of stuff. That day there were 250 more tour groups.

The park went smoothly for about 2 months and gathered 10,000,000 dollars and a few major additions before the parks generators over heated and blew up. That’s when the trouble began.

Ryan had installed an electrical fence around the park. It was 15 miles long. On top of all that, Keith made another fence around the park. This one was so much farther around that it was 20 miles long. It wasn’t electric except for the colored lights on it. All together, there was one light on every inch of the fence, or 1,267,200 individual lights!

Ryan and Keith were in the Control Center about to turn on the outer fence and lights. There were no people at the park because it was closed while the lights and things were being installed. The younger brother pulled the lever. Sparks flew out the control panel and the walls. Everything went black.

"What in the world happened?!" shouted Ryan.

"I don’t know! There must be a problem with the generators. Let’s go check it out."

"O.K."

When they got to the Generator Plant and went inside, it was pitch black.

"Try to find a light switch or something." said Ryan.

"I already have. Everything is busted."

"Great, this is just great."

"Let’s just find the flashlights and see what the problem is. Then we can fix this mess."

"Well hurry up!"

"Don’t be such a grouch."

"Shut-up!"

"O, go blow out your out ear."

When they found the flashlights, they examined the generators. There were four all together. Keith had numbers 1 and 2 while his brother checked out 3 and 4. All of the generators were busted.

"I think I know what the problem is." Keith said.

"Oh really? So what is it for cryin’ out loud?"

"Okay. When I turned on the power to the fence and the lights, it must have short circuited the generators."

"And why would that happen?"

"Because there was way too much energy. I calculated it, and it turned out that we were running 150,000,000,000 volts of electricity. These generators were only made to be able to handle 35,000,000,000 volts each, which is 140,000,000,000."

"So now what do we do?"

"I say that we check on the dinosaurs to make sure that they haven’t escaped. There is no power in all of the park now. Tomorrow we’ll hurry up and fix this up. Right now we need to check the dinosaurs and go home to sleep. It’s already 10:45."

Ryan didn’t argue. He was so tired that he almost fell asleep at the wheel twice driving to his home. The house was 15 miles south of the park on the bottom outskirts of San Diego.

Keith and Ryan’s kids were away at camp in Washington state for the weekend. The rooms at the house were sound and shock proof so that none of the zillionaires heard the dinosaurs stampeding toward the city.

That night Keith dreamed about the park. He was sitting on the back of a Brontosaurus. Then a Velociraptor attacked. A huge T-Rex came up and ate the Raptor.

Keith woke up. He looked at the clock and discovered that it was 8:30. Wearily he climbed out of bed. After he took a cold shower to wake himself up, Keith dressed and went downstairs to eat breakfast. Ryan was up going over the plans of the park.

"Morning." he said.

"Hey. So what the major damage?"

"Well, it looks like we have our day filled. The generator blew up the Control Center Modem. It’s gonna take days and about a million dollars to fix this mess. We’re going to have to put in a new generator system and Control Center."

"So what about the dinosaurs?"

"I don’t know. Let’s go out and check on them."

"O.K."

They each got into their own 4x4 jeep with weapons and artillery. At the park Ryan stopped and skidded. Keith crashed into him. Ryan’s jeep flipped up into the air and crashed

upside down on the road.

"Oh no!" Keith screamed. He tried to open the door but it was bashed in and stuck. The windshield was blasted out with one of the guns Keith got from the back seat. Carefully, he crawled through the windshield and ran to the other jeep just as his own burst into flames. "RYAN! RYAN!"

"I-I’m okay, just a l-little s-shaken up." his brother said from inside of the jeep. "Just help me out of this thing!"

"You bet!" Keith smiled. He dug into the back of his brother’s jeep and pulled out a laser gun. With it, Keith sawed off the door and pulled Ryan out.

"Ryan! I’m so glad that your alive!"

"Ditto." Ryan smiled.

"So why did you stop so suddenly?"

"Look at the fence and tell me."

"Huh?"

Keith looked at the fence and screamed. The fence was torn up! The dinosaurs had escaped! "NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! This can’t be true! Where do you think that the dinosaurs went Ryan?!"

"Let’s follow their trail and capture them."

Keith looked and sure enough, there was a huge trail where the dinosaurs had gone. The brothers walked home and got into their X-36's. Flying at about 1,000 feet above the ground, they followed the trail. It was very easy for about 14 miles, and then the trail split up into 4 trails. The brothers landed and looked at it. After a closer inspection, it turned out that the four trails were made by Stegosauruses, Tyrannosauruses, Brontosauruses, and Velociraptors.

"So what do we do know?" asked Ryan.

"Let’s each take a trail, get the dinosaurs, and come back here where we’ll wait for each other."

"O.K."

"Hey! Wait a second! Where are the other dinosaurs? There were a bout 25 different types. Let’s go back to the park, get them, and destroy them. They don’t belong in this time period."

"Are you crazy?! We could keep the park open. Why can’t we keep them?"

"The same reason that we’re not going to keep the dinosaurs that stampeded."

"Do you think that all of the dinosaurs are going to escape and ransack the world?"

"We can’t take anymore chances like this. It’s to risky."

"I guess your right. It is too risky. Innocent people could die. Let’s just hurry up and destroy the dinosaurs at the park."

"I knew you’d understand."

They flew back to Dinosaur World and shot each dinosaur with a missile.

Keith went after the 2 T-Rex’s while Ryan took the 4 Velociraptors.

Hot on the trail of his dinosaurs, Keith fond out that they went through the city of San Diego! In the middle of it, Keith spotted the T-Rex’s. There were no people around but he assumed that they had all taken cover. He flew in low around the buildings. The dinosaurs were pulling a bus apart with their teeth and the claws on their feet. There were smashed cars and trucks around them. Keith shot a missile at each T-Rex. They blew up and the heat burned their bodies. He went back and followed the trail of the 3 Brontosauruses.

Ryan was following the 5 Velociraptors. Their trail went into San Diego and into a hanger. Ryan shot out 4 of his best missiles at each side of the hanger roof. It knocked the roof out of place so that it was only sitting on the 4 walls. Ryan hooked a cable onto his plane and the roof and pulled it off. Inside, 3 of the Raptors were chewing through a 2-seater airplane with steel-strong jaws. The other 2 Raptors were eating on a gas truck.

Ryan got an idea as how to kill them with only one missile. He shot a missile at the gas truck. It blew up along with the dinosaurs and the entire hanger. He went back to follow the trail of the Stegosauruses.

Keith was flying towards the beach, were the Brontosaurus trail had led him. Eventually he saw them. The 3 were in the water.

"This is going to be very easy." Keith said to himself. He again flew in low and shot the Brontosauruses with a missile each. They wailed and fell over with a giant splash. They kicked around for a few minutes before Keith realized that one missile wasn’t enough. He shot each of the dinosaurs with two more missiles. This time they died and were blown apart. No traces of them remained.

Keith called Ryan on his Radio Watch L-X. He told him that he had finished his job and will meet him at their house. He went home.

About an hour later Ryan landed and went inside.

"So what happened?" Keith asked.

Ryan told him about the Raptors and how he forced the Stegosauruses towards a ledge over a cliff and blew it up.

Keith related his story to Ryan and then they both told the entire story to their families.

"Hey, Keith?"

"Yeah?"

"If you ever find more dinosaurs and decide to put them in a park, don’t." Ryan smiled.
