I love to travel and see new areas. I enjoy tourist "traps" as much the wild side of each state I visit. It's always interesting to learn about a new area and see new things. While most of my travels have kept me on the west coast, We do plan on trying to see new areas.

  • Last Summer - I did quite a bit of traveling last summer, seen area's I've never been and thoroughly enjoyed myself.
    • Minnesota - This state has some beautiful country. If you like nature and camping, I highly recommend a trip to one or several of the state parks. The International Wolf Center in Ely is an interesting place, and the Wolves housed there are beautiful. And of course you can't go to Minnesota with out stopping for a shopping trip at The Mall of America (did you know they have an amusement park INSIDE?) in the Twin Cities.
    • Kentucky-  I was here for a party ( two separate times that summer) with some friends, So I didn't really get to "site see", But we had a great time. I visited Berea (Near Lexington) and it's a small Artsy town. So if you like arts and crafts, this is a place to visit. of course, a trip across the Kentucky river on a ferry boat is always interesting (and a new experience for me). For me, a drive through the country to see all the beautiful horse farms was a great ending to a wonderful trip.
    • North Carolina- Again not a lot of site seeing this trip. I intend to rectify that this year. They have some great state parks there and I plan on spending time in a few of them. But I got to visit with one of my best friends and that always makes for a great trip.
  •  Our plans for this summer- Good thing I'm taking off from school this summer, we are going to be busy.
    • Buffalo- This is home, where I was born. A very large part of my family still lives there, so a trip to Buffalo is always full of fun, parties and laughter. Of course you have to take a trip to The Falls and a stop at a casino or two is some added entertainment. This year we will go at the end of September, first to see the fall leaves (we don't really get a fall in Florida), and most importantly, to attend the Grape Festival near the small town of Silver Creek. I love to visit wineries where ever I go, and this area has some great ones. The Grape Festival happens every year and is a celebration of the grape harvest.
    • North Carolina- I'll definitely get here to at least visit my friend for a few days, but I'd love to spend a long weekend at one of the state parks.
    • Virginia/Washington DC- This trip will be on the way to New York, My best friend and her family are stationed there, It'll be wonderful to spend a few days with them as well as getting into D.C. to see the Smithsonian (I've been there 3 times and STILL haven't seen them all)
    • Florida - We have a beautiful state and while I've been to many areas, I haven't seen most of it. This summer, Many long weekends are going to be used touring all the natural springs in Florida. When I started researching, I was amazed at how many springs Florida has and how many I'd never hear of. So we'll be packing up the camping gear and canoe, and taking off to explore some of our states gems. Next summer, we might do all the Florida Lighthouses.
