Joe
Melchiona: Joe is one of the co-owners of Melchiona's Dance Center which was
established in Miami, Florida since 1981. He was the artistic
director of American Dance Theater of Miami Inc. from 1988-1998; a
not-for-profit professional dance/theater company which performed
extensively throughout Florida.
Joe credits the late Jack Stanley for is love of tap and
early training, having studied with him privately for some years.
Since that time, Joe has studied and performed with some of
the great tap legends of our time including Buster Brown, Savion
Glover, Jane Goldberg, Jenny Lane at al.,
incorporating various tap techniques and evolving his own
personal style, which is both a mix of Broadway Tap and
rhythm/improvisational tap. Joe Teaches Advanced Work in

Heidi
Melchiona: Heidi, Joe's wife, and co-owner of Melchiona's Dance
Center, began her dance training as a child in Europe, while
her father was stationed in Spain with the United States Air Force.
When her family relocated to Miami, Ms. Melchiona continued
her training with Joe Michaels and with the late Jack Stanley. Heidi
has danced professionally her entire adult life, in concert
performances, on television and in musical theater productions. She
has been a professional cheerleader for the Miami Dolphins under the
direction of June Taylor.
Ms. Melchiona was a dancer and principle choreographer with
American Dance Theatre of Miami.
Her work there regularly won critical
