Melchiona own and operate a large Dance Center in South West
Dade County. We began as a small school in the fall of
1981 and through our dedication to quality and service we've
enjoyed constant growth ever since. We currently run a
6000.sq. ft. facility with a suite of 5 teaching rooms
conveniently located one mile west of the turnpike at the
intersection of Bird Road and S.W. 127th Ave. We and our
staff of over 10 teachers offer classes for children and adults,
beginner through professional levels, in Ballet, Tap, Jazz,
Acrobatic-Tumbling and Classical Spanish Dance.
Periodically we bring in special guest faculty to give master
classes in Modern, Hip Hop, and Partnering Work. Testament
to our success as dance educators is that our students have won
scholarships to prestigious College and University dance
programs, the Joffery School of Ballet, the Broadway Dance
Center, Giordano Jazz Dance Center among others. Some of our
students have gone on to tour with dance companies and Broadway
Shows Nationally and Internationally while others have become
professional dance teachers themselves. However, the
clearest indication of our success as dance educators is that
all our students love dance and dancing. This, I believe,
is a love innate in all children, but it can be too easily
killed by a cruel or thoughtless word from a teacher, an
unchallenging, out-dated curriculum (or one that is overly
taxing and not realistically matched to the student's
individual level and interest), or even over-saturation in one
form of dance. We work diligently to avoid these and other
pitfalls Thank-you for inquiring into our school. On the
