FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS 09-06-2002
Can I take over premium payments of my policy?
The court has approved temporary interim premium financing, subject to closing with the lender of up to $1,500,000, to keep policies in force. Fidelity Trust or Future First is the owner of the policies. A review of Future First's records reflect that the policy ownership information given to some investors is not necessarily correct. Accordingly, we can not advise investors to make premium payments.
I found that my policy was about to lapse, and paid the full premium myself directly to the insurance company in order to keep the policy in force. How and when will I be reimbursed?
There will be a claims process put in place at a later date. This process will be determined by the court. We cannot advise investors to pay premiums directly, since it is unclear at this time that representations made to investors about ownership of their policies are correct.
I received a check from the Fidelity Trust for premium reimbursement, but when I tried to deposit it, the check bounced. How will I receive that money?
Some investors received a premium reimbursement check from The Fidelity Trust. However, on August 9, when Mr. Levine was appointed Conservator, all accounts were frozen in order to protect investors' interests. There will be a process put in place at a later date establishing a claims procedure for these funds. This process will be determined by the court.
My policy has a cash value, is there a way I can have access to that money?
No. The owner of the policies is The Fidelity Trust or Future First, and the judge will determine the handling of these policies.
Was Future First actually set up to report IRA investments to the Department of Revenue and, if not, will I lose my IRA status on my investment?
We do not yet have this information available.
My policy has matured. How and when will I get my money?
There will be a claims process put in place at a later date. The court will determine the means of distribution of the moneys derived from matured policies.
What will happen to the principals of Future First, Fidelity Trust, and Life Settlements? Will they be prosecuted?
There is presently a criminal investigation being conducted by the statewide prosecutor. We will update all investors as this investigation progresses.
We will do our best to keep you informed of any changes that affect your investment as they occur or as we learn of them. Please remember that you can call the Investor Information Line at 1-866-852-6746 for updates regarding the Conservatorship.
