Long Lost
*By Addy Gray
Long lost are the days
When we didn't have to go to school yet
Naps and snacks were the most important events of the day
And dolls seven inches tall could take over the world
Long lost are the days
Of elementary school
Where recess was a scheduled event and not free-time
And being line leader was every seven-year-old's goal
Long lost are the days
Of middle school
With the first experiences of changing classes
And every girl learning how to put on makeup in the girls'
room
Long lost are the days
Of high school
Where you realize the true meaning of friends
And begin to have a real life, despite what you previously
thought
Ahead are the days
Of college, career, and the real world
And who knows what you will learn and what you will
accomplish
And you realize that every moment, no matter how minuscule,
is
important, but not long lost.
