For once I saw that for that period of time I was pleasing a part of me that did not need all that attention... my ego. It gave me a big head that made me feel better than some other people. Yet deep down inside I was so unhappy.

My heart knew I was making a mistake and it pleaded with my brain. However, my brain disregarded the heart's good intentions and wisdom. I see that sometimes it takes a little while for the brain to overcome its occasional haughtiness.
