It is very interesting to note we can look at the cross at least a couple of different ways. Physically and Spiritually. Let's take a look at it physically first. To begin with there were 2 thiefs and Jesus physically hanging on the cross. The 2 physical thiefs died and were buried. Christ died and was buried. End of story physically. Now let's take a look at it spiritually. To begin with there were 3 spiritual thiefs on the cross. 2 bad ones and 1 good one. Don't forget that the Bible tells us Jesus is to come as a thief in the night. The one thief believed upon Jesus and was told by Jesus he would be with Him in Paradise that very day. Now there were 2 good thiefs and 1 bad thief spiritually. Also we have to realize that when God's people join themselves unto the Lord they are one spirit. ( 1 Cor. 6:17 ) This then makes 1 bad thief who refused to believe on Christ and 1 good thief because of the 1 thief and/or Christ becoming one spirit as a result of his profession of belief in Christ. Symbolically this now represents the Harlot church and the Pure Church in totality. The Harlot Church being headed up by the 1st Adam and the 2nd Church or the Pure Church being headed up by Christ or the Last Adam as 1 Cor. 15:45 tells us. 2 divisions if you will. Either good or evil. No in betweens. Jesus in reality took His own brother Adam 1 to the cross and killed him spiritually for an eternity. It in effect became the opposite to Cain killing Abel physically. He couldn't kill him spiritually but only physically. ( Matt. 10:28 ) All people then in summation who don't believe in Christ become a part of the Harlot Church headed up by Adam 1. He has become their rightful head. Those who do believe in the Lord Jesus Christ become a part of the Pure Church with Christ as their Head. This happens spiritually in each person's heart. Each person is going to go to the cross spiritually in their minds to either be with Christ or to be with Adam 1 for an eternity. Adam 1 is the Devil or the Carnal Mind of man. Read Romans 5:12 to the end of the chapter. Read 1 Cor. 15:21 & 22. Spells it out very clearly. Thanks for reading this small exerpt on Symbolism. May the Lord richly bless you.
What Does It Mean To Be Blinded?
There are three different ways we can be blinded. 1) We can be physically blinded. 2) We can be blinded to sin. 3) We can be blinded in sin.
We know that Paul was blinded physically by the light being too bright knowing that Jesus was that Light. He had to be led by Ananais to Damascas as a result. We are blinded at times ourselves by the same Light because of it shining too bright in our lives. He is trying to reveal His truth unto us and we just can't see it at the time because we are to far in darkness. Christ reveals himself unto us at the appropriate times thus allowing us to become more and more of that Light. Finally, when he has revealed enough of that Light unto us he has lit our candle which is our very soul and now our little light shines. It becomes a way unto others who are having the same trouble we did. Praise the Lord!!! When He has led us unto the Light and revealed Himself unto us, we now look through the glass lightly instead of darkly as 1 Cor. 13 tells us. We have become dead to sin and alive in Him. We are no longer blind in sin but are now blind to sin. Thusly, we can be physically blind and be able to be spiritally blind to sin which means we can see spiritually or we can be physically blind and be spiritually blind in sin and not see or we cannot be blind physically and have the same combinations as listed above. I would suggest you look at the word Blind in your concordance and study all of the scriptures concerning it. Just try to keep in mind to look at all 3 of the ways you can be blind and the scriptures will jump out of the book at you.
