Spring Fling
Mood:  chillin'
Now Playing: Devil Rays v. the Rangers
Ok, I am back. After a few months of "vacation", the F-man hath returnth. Now bring me all of your finest wines and cheese in the world. Enough of my bravado and lets get to the serious sh!t. Allow me to get you updated on what is up in the life of F4 (new name, courtesy of M1). Well taxes were done and money has been delievered. Always nice to get some money back when you don't expect it. My job sucks, not only because of the people that work and shop there, but because they have no brains at the HQ and they make dumb decisions. My roommates are a JOKE! They don't clean, or wash anything and I live in apartment that is suppose to be for 4 people now has 9 people living here. Feel like I am part of the MinuteMan Event going on in Arizona to stop people from entering my apartment. Nevertheless, the lease is almost up and I will be over this problem sooner than later. Baseball is back, which will allow me to watch something other than CNN and CSPAN. I have three teams that I am rooting for: Braves, Nats and Rays. Braves, because if you know me, that is my team till death. The Nationals because being from DC, I still have some love for teams from the national capital. Right now they are playing in RFK stadium which has its bleachers looking like a RollerCoaster but when this team builds a new ballpark by 2008, it is going to do justice by featuring nice views of scenic views of Virginia, DC and Maryland. And the Devil Rays because I have to support the local team, and they do have a great group of youngsters that will one day become good. Hopefully we will get a owner that will spend some money not only to keep the talent we have here but also to attract some good veterans that will produce some wins here. Also, the Shield is back on and this could be the best season ever! FX 10pm on Tuesdays, watch it and you will be hook!
Let me take this time to thank everyone for all you do. You all know who you are and sometimes I do not think that I accurately portray my thanks to you all. If you ever need anything, do hesitate to ask and you know I will do my best to help you out.

From a middle School project to the Senate floor....
Mood:  hungry
Now Playing: West Wing on Bravo
Over the holidays I came across and advertisment that caught my eye. Usually we I come to advertisments in magazines, I normally flip right by them, but this ad had something that most ads don't -- a meaningful point. The ad feature a mundane one dollar bill except for one thing, on the other side from the Washington's face, it features the full 27 amendments. Only 6% of Americans knows of all the rights and freedoms found in the First Amendment and I am sure that number is drastically lower for the other 26 amendments. The project is called the The Liberty Bill Act or around Washington D.C., it is known as S.244. H. R. 1785. It's mission is simmple, to put an abridged constiution on the back of the U.S. currency. The U.S. currency is of course very popular and universal. It would allow other countries to learn the true process and foundations of democracy and freedom. It also allows the citizens in this country to know their rights. No offense to the the current design of a pyramid that is currently on the back of the one dollar bill, but this I think would be more productive and important for our country. For more infomation about this bill check out The Liberty Bill Act.

Start of a New Week...
Mood:  cool
Now Playing: NHL Pro on X Box
As we look back on the playoffs this week, we can see why I am not in the business of picking games professionally. Although I was 3 out of 4 in determining who would win, my point margins were way off. Not to mention, I should have been 2-4, considering that the J-E-T-S Kicker missed two, TWO, opportunities to send his team to the AFC championship game. Oh well, the Steelers live to play another day and the J-E-T-S will have to wait till next year to compete. I was real shocked to see the Colts faulter as they did. They looked as if the team didn't show up or as if they were playing the Dolphins. Manning will win the big one, but not this year and probably not in the near future as they are way over the cap and they have no defense as all, as it was shown on Sunday.
Today, as everyone I am sure aware of is Martin Luther King Jr. Day. This is a day to sit back and recall all of the civil rights marches, actions and events to help make this country what it is today. I feel that there are many more people that should be recongized for changing this country around from it's hatred towards minorities, but setting aside a day to celebrate this man's accomplishments is kosher with me. It also reminds us that there are still injustices still prevelant not only in this country but also in this world. Hopefully we will all one day live in a world where truly everyone is not judged on the color of their skin but by the content of their character.

That thing we call sports
Mood:  energetic
Now Playing: SportsCenter on ESPN (part of the Go Network; Go.com)
It is the the 14th day of the new year and as any sports fan would know, this is the time of year that true names are created on the gridiron. This year is no different. This upcoming weekend there are some great games that I believe would be worth setting your schedule around, to ensure that you don't miss one single snap. And as a reward, I am going to briefly go through each game and tell you who I feel will move on....

NY Jets v. Pittsburg:
Damn, I love Pitssburg; they have all the weapons a team could want - Young Quarterback, formidable ground attack and of course the "Steel Curtain." The question should not be what the have, but what they don't have. This team is deep and loaded and allowing them to have a week off to let old mending injuries heal is probably what is going to allow them to head to the AFC Championship game.
J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS. Have you ever wonder why a team in NY is called the Jets? I mean, I can understand the Yankees, or the Mets, but the Jets. Which brings up another question, what is up with the rhyming scheme for N.Y Teams? Mets, Jets, Nets...soon the Yanks will change their name to the "Bets" and Islanders will change their name to the "Pets". Nonetheless, the "Airplanes" will show up this weekend but after having a emotional game last week in San Diego, which I was surprised that they won, I don't think that this team has enough to comprise a win at Heinz Field.

St. Louis v. Atlanta
Anyone who knows me can attest to how big of a Brave fan I am. I love them when they are winning and I love them when I am losing. That "love" that I have for "America's Team" has now meandered it's way to "America's City", Atlanta. Yes, the city that features the world's busiest airport, the Coke~Cola muesuem, the King Center and most importantly, Ted Turner Field, has affectionally received my love. Back to the point, this city has it all. Braves, Falcons and uh....well the Braves and Falcons. Why do I like the Falcons so much. Number 7, Micheal Vick. Watching Vick run, throw and hurdle is always amazing. Vick can do it all and especially since the Falcons will be playing at home this weekend, Vick becomes more special as the crowd seems to always help the Falcons to victory.
The Gateway City has always feature some notable athletes/sports people, Bob Gibson, Stan "The Man" Musial, Ozzie Smith, etc. One person that you won't find on that list is Mike Martz. What a pompous A$$ hole! He is always celebrating when things go good and always blaming other people/things when things go bad. I understand that coaches get emotional as well, but this man goes overboard. Not to mention, his team is not that really good. Bulger, I think, has a slow arm and their recieving corp is not what it use to be. St. Louis, I know the Cards made it to the World Series and if hockey was in the midst of being played, the Blues would be a contender for the Stanley Cup - But this Rams' team is not going bring home the Lombardi Trophy while Martz is the head coach. BTW, 4 weeks till "Pitchers and Catchers Report".

Minnesota v. Philly
Oh Randy! First you hit a cop with your car, then you squirt water into an offical's face, next came the incident when you walked off the field and left your teammates there on the sideline. Oh Randy, I thought I have seen it all. That was until last weekend, when after catching a TD, you ran to the field goal uprights and mimicked what the Packer Fans' allegedly do to the visitor's team bus, moon. Thank goodness Randy faked it. I thought I would be mad or think that it was repulsive, but I thought it was funny and hysterical. Yeah Randy got fined 10 k for that, but damn, at least he didn't run into the stands and started pummelling on innocent by-standers. Let's look at a recent interview with a TV station:

Reporter: "Write the check yet, Randy?"

Moss: "When you're rich you don't write checks."

Reporter: "If you don't write checks, how do you pay these guys?"

Moss: "Straight cash, homey."

Reporter: "Randy, are you upset about the fine?"

Moss: "No, cause it ain't [expletive]. Ain't nothing but 10 grand. What's 10 grand to me? Ain't [expletive] ? Next time I might shake my [expletive]."

LOL....funny I think but if there is one place I don't want to mess with the crowd, it is Philly. Remember Bucs Fans, how the local media was warning fans that traveled to Philly for the NFC Championship Game, that they should only wear their Bucs apparel only inside Veterans' Staduim and not outside, for you WILL get beat up? This is the same crowd that booed Santa Claus and Kobe, which I can understand the latter. This crowd is thristy this week -- three trips to the NFC Championship game and NO Super Bowl Rings and the Eagles know it.

Mahatma Rick says NORSEMEN 17 AMERICA'S SYMBOL 35

Indy v. New England.
I like Peyton Manning. A qb that is very vocal at the line, likes to aublible and change plays. He is also the guy that broke Marino's single season td record of 48. That is easy to do when you have 3 receivers that have over 1000 yards each. And, boy, didn't we see a show last week with Reggie Wade and his 220 yards recieving. This week, I expect the same, but with a new and more familar name, Marvin Harrison.
New England - you had that long winning streak broken this year and it was shown then that you are beatable. I expect for you to bow down to Sir Manning and take your defeat respectfully. Plus, one championship in Boston is the norm per year.

Finally some random thoughts
~Kudos to Matt Leinhart for staying another year at USC. This team looked good in the Orange Bowl and with him coming back, any question who is the Pre Seaon Number 1?
~Darts to the Braves for getting Modesi. I love the Braves but how can you pick up a guy that walked out on his team last year? Damn, if the Yanks thought he was that good, don't you think they would have kept him in their every expanding budget.
~Kudos to the folks up there in Jax to choose Alicia Keys to sing "America, the Beautiful" for the Super Bowl. She is no Janet Jackson and she won't do what Janet did last year.

Quote of the Day - "Next time I might shake my [expletive]." Randy Moss after being questioned about the fine the NFL gave him.

Sight of the Day - Rain! When was the last time it rained! Welcome back, but don't get comfortable.
