I
can't remember your face
Yet I can feel your touch
I have stood on the shore
So many times
You remember the place
Often the fog disguises
Where sand meets sea
I stand there
And become one with the mist
Sometimes the view of the lighthouse
Just beyond the bridge
Floats on the horizon
An illusion from another time
I can't remember your face
But your voice calls to me
In my dreams I wander
Looking for you
In winter I have walked
The dunes covered with snow
On blistering cold days
The sea and sky endlessly blue
The color of your eyes
I remember those
I thought that I heard your laughter
As you played tag with the waves
It was just a seabird
So many years
So much time
I can't remember your face
But I haven't forgotten you
