FIGURE 1: iTunes Music Library
This is where the music stored inside the iTunes folder is stored. The window will display all of the songs that are refrenced in the library. These are NOT always what is on your iPod! Note the circle - this is what you click on to see what is in your library list.
FIGURE 2: What's on my iPod?
When you have your iPod plugged in, you can view what is on your iPod. Note the circle - when you click on this location, the window shows the songs on your iPod. They will appear grey, because you cannot edit the items from this window.
FIGURE 3: What do the checkmarks mean?
The check mark means you want that song or podcast to be transferred to your iPod. If you want something on your iPod next time you do a sync, you need that check mark in the box. If there is something you DON'T want on your iPod, take the check mark off.
FIGURE 4: What do the exclamation points mean?
It means that iTunes can't find the file that is associated with that music or movie. double click it and locate the file, it should play normally.
FIGURE 5 & 6: How do I add things?
Go to file>Add Song/Add Folder. Add song will let you choose one song. Add Folder will let you choose a whole folder of songs.
FIGURE 7: Once I'm done, how do I get them on the iPod?
Go to file>Sync . You'll see the status at the top of iTunes, and your iPod will show a circle arrow while it is running. Do not remove your iPod during this process.
