Up for Sale is this very rare 1964 Beardmore Paramount MKVII London Taxi. Vehicle just underwent replacement of a new clutch, new shocks, gas tank was cleaned and repainted and reinstalled, new filler hose to gas tank, new fuel filter, valve adjustment, timing and adjustment of the points. This vehicle has a 4 cylinder 211E gas engine/w manual transmission. Right Hand drive, left hand shift. It is build by Ford Motor Company LTD. Dagenham England. The taxi meter is in working order but I installed 2 new bulbs in the meter light but it did not come on. This is not a high speed vehicle. The max speed rating is 60MPH however when I purchased the car it would not exceed 30MPH. Since we have replaced the clutch and were able to bring the engine RPM's down while driving and cleaning the fuel system out and making the adjustments the vehicle now performs at 50MPH. The body is made out of aluminum and the roof/fenders are fiberglass.
I don't know too much regarding the history of this vehicle except what I have researched online. There were only 650 of these models made and this vehicle is #159 of production. Parts have been easily obtainable thru Kip Motors in Dallas, Tx but are not cheap. The mileage on the vehicle is not correct and actual mileage is unknown. These vehicles were built for high miles and I would estimate over the years it has put on at least 300K if it was ever in service in London.
What it needs: The weather striping around the windshield needs replacing, it is starting to come off a bit. It does have some flaws in the paint in places that you can email me for more pictures. The interior is presentable but not perfect. The headliner is in good shape-no tears or holes. The trunk will not close exactly all the way due to a hinge that is broken inside the lid. This will take a bit of work but can be repaired without too much trouble. The tires show a bit of cracking but I have been driving the car on those tires and they seem to be fine. There are 3 beauty rings on the car. One is missing. It has all hubcaps but are not perfect. The car had been in a crash at one time ( not in my care) damage seems to have been minimal or repaired properly. There are some places on the grill at the bottom that has minor damage from that accident. There is some interior work that needs attention inside the driver compartment but is not critical to its performance.
This is a fun car to take out and about. It turns heads everywhere because they are so unusual. People are always wanting to take pictures with it.
I have what manuals were given to me....which have been a savior in trying to refurbish. I have a couple of extra parts to go with it as well. If there is anything you need to ask, I will do my best to answer if I can. You can call 904-398-8400 and ask for Kate Asking $17,900
This is an awesome 92 Ford E-150 Sherrod Conversion Van. The only thing I can think of that needs to be replaced may be the curtains because they get faded over time. They are all original in this van. And the radio fluctuates from low to loud when on but it has been doing that since it was new and my mom never used the stereo so she didn't have it looked at.
Features are Power windows, locks, tilt wheel, AM/FM cassette, Power seats both front. 4 captains chairs and the rear bench is power and folds down flat, cruise control and an Audiovox TV in the rear. AC blows cold. There is an overhead control panel that turns on all the mood lighting as well as controls the rear bench seat fold down at the touch of a button. All of these work fine. I just installed a trailer hitch so my dad could pull his trailer. There is some fading of the carpets from the sun but it is not bad. Most of the time it has been housed in a carport.
The mechanics on the van are good. My dad drives it back and forth to Tennessee to their second home about 5 times a year, the rest of the time I am driving it locally for my personal use. I had my mechanic drop the gas tank and replace the filler hose that had rotted and when he replaced everything the fuel gauge did not work so we have to track mileage not to run out of fuel. As you can see from the pictures it is in great shape. The rear door is having a new cable installed because it broke and the back door would not open. We replaced the cable in the side door 1 1/2 years ago for the same reason. Some of the parts inside are plastic so they break over time and I guess it was time. There is a full size spare tire underneath the vehicle and has a ladder on the back. The top is in great shape for its age. I have seen no peeling. If you are interested in this van or have questions please don't hesitate to call. I will answer the beat I can. Call Kate 904-399-1565 Asking Price $3000.00
