Vanessa says to herself “Man,where are all the damn demons at”? She then hears a growl and footsteps around the corner and says “Hah,speak of the devil”. She turns the corner and the vampire says “Aww….look at the poor little lost girl”. Vanessa laughs and says “Me, lost? Pssh. I’m not lost. I’m very well on my path here”. “Now, sorry to cut this little chat short can we just cut to the fighting”? The vampire says “Whatever floats your boat slayer. Just prepare to die”. Vanessa says “No,you, prepare to turn into a big pile of dust by Mr.Pointy here”. The vampire then pulls the first punch but Vanessa ducks. She then punches the vampire and kicks him in the stomach. The vampire does the same to her and kicks her into the garbage can. Angel hears the commotion on his way to Caritas and heads towards the alley. He sees a young girl get up and kick at the vampire who looked at least twice her size. After he sees the young girl get thrown down a couple of times he sees the vampire hold her at the wall of the building by her neck. Angel then steps in and pulls the vampire off of her. Angel then punches the vampire and Vanessa punches the vampire also. She then gets him(the vampire-not Angel) against the wall and then plunges the stake through his heart. After the vampire turns to dust she says to Angel “Thanxz. If you hadn’t of come along I would have been vamp-chow”. Angel says “No problem. I was just walking by and heard something and decided to check it out”. Vanessa says “Well,I’m glad you were passing through then. By the way,I’m Vanessa. I’m new around here”. Angel says “I’m Angel”. She says “Angel,I like that name”. “So what are you some protector around here or something”? Angel says “Yeah,I guess you’d call me that”. Vanessa says “Oh,so you see a lot of that then? It’s a normal day-to-day thing here in L.A.”? Angel says “Yeah,pretty much”. Vanessa says “Oh,ok. I was just wondering if L.A. has as much demonic activity as Sunnydale. Which I kinda think so. Well,I guess I’ll see you around then Angel. It was nice to meet you”. Angel says “Yeah,same here”. After Vanessa walks away and is far,far away from him he then recalls her saying “Oh,ok. I was just wondering if L.A. has as much demonic activity as Sunnydale. Which I kinda think so”. He thinks to himself ‘Is she like the new slayer or something? Wait….Sunnydale….she must know Buffy then. So she IS a slayer.’ Angel then head back onto his way to Caritas.

Vanessa then gets to her apartment and says “Man,am I glad to be indoors. I’m so beat”! She then thinks to herself ‘Man,that Angel guy was kinda hot. Wait….Angel….isn’t that Buffy’s ex? Danny referred to him as Angelus. So is Angel evil? No,Angelus was his evil vampire self, and Buffy said that he got his soul back before he came here to L.A. So that means….a vampire just saved me from another vampire. WEIRD! The phone then rings. Vanessa answers it and says “Hello”? Buffy says “Hey Vanessa. What’s up? Have you met Angel yet”? Vanessa says “Yep. He saved me from a vamp. This vamp was like twice my size and had me against the wall of this building and Angel came up and pulled him off of me and I dusted him. I mean the vampire not Angel”. Buffy says “Oh,cool. How’s L.A. treatin’ ya”? Vanessa says “It’s aight out here. It’s been a bit slow. But that may be just because I’ve only been here for 2 days. But,I’ll probably be in the swing of things in a week or two”. Buffy says “Cool. Hey Dawn wants to talk to you”. Vanessa says “Ok,put her on”. Dawn says “Hey V. What’s up? It’s boring over here now without you. Willow and Amy are having no fun doing their spells, Anya is getting frustrated with running the shop, and Buffy gets bored every time she does training. She’s even got Spike comin’ in and training with her because she needs someone to train with that is at least EQUALLY as strong as her or as knowledged as her in fighting and training all together. Then me….I don’t have anyone now to talk to about stuff I DON’T wanna talk to Buffy about”. Vanessa says “Well…I dunno what to say kiddo. I’ll try and visit sometime. But it WON’T be as soon as possible because I NEED to get me a job. Hey,well tell everyone “Hi” for me because I gotta go. I can’t run this phone bill TOO high since I have NO job. Bye Dawn”. “Bye Vanessa”.

Vanessa puts on her leather jacket and then finishes lacing up and tying her black leather boots. She then smooths her red tank top down and twirls around makin’ sure nothing is on her loose black pants. She then puts a stake inside the sleeve of her jacket and then opens her door and heads out to a local club. *When inside the club* Vanessa looks around and spots her friend she met a few days ago. She says “Megs,what’s up girl”? Megan says “Nothin’ much. I’m just checkin’ out the guys in this room. God do they look good. Aye caramba! They are sizzlin’. I wanna just bump and grind with one of them RIGHT NOW”! Vanessa laughs and says “Whoa girly, hold on. Get them hormones in check. We don’t wanna really HOOK UP with any of these guys. You haven’t even met any of them. Just chill chica. Chill”. Megan says “You haven’t gotten laid lately have you”? Vanessa says “It’s been 2 and a half weeks. I haven’t met many guys I’d wanna hook up with in the week I’ve been here”. Megan says “But you HAVE met a few haven’t you”? Vanessa says “Maybe”. Megan says “Who,what’d he look like,when did you meet him….I NEED details”! Vanessa says “Girl,I CAN’T tell you that! You wouldn’t know him anyway”. Megan says “Are you so sure”? Vanessa says “Yeah,I’m sure. I don’t REALLY know him anyway. I just met him one time. He got this jerk off my case”. Megan says “Oooh…look at the hotties over there! Why don’t we go over there and work our “magic”? What do ya say? Wanna do it”? Vanessa says “Sure, what the hell. We’re young and beautiful. I’m not seein’ anyone. I need to meet people. C’mon”. Megan and Vanessa then walk over to the 3 guys. The first guy was about 5’9”, blonde spiky hair, hazelish green eyes, he was kinda scrawny. The second guy was about 6’5”, had dreads which looked cool with his light tone of brown skin so he looked like he was bi-racial, he had brown eyes and was really built. The third guy was 6’1”, had brown messy bed hair, brown eyes, a great smile which was brought out by the gap between his teeth, and he was moderately built. The first guy says “Hey,I’m Jeff, this is Nick, and he’s Josh”. Nick says “And who are you fine ladies”? Vanessa says “I’m Vanessa and this is Megan”. Jeff,who seemed to be suave and smooth says “Well then Megan would you like to dance with me”? Megan says “Sure”. Nick says to Josh “Hey man,I just saw Glory. I’m gonna go do my mack thang ok? Don’t do nuthin’ I wouldn’t do”. Josh says “Yeah,ok man”. He then turns to Vanessa and says “You been here before”? Vanessa says “No, I just moved here about a week ago from Sunnydale”. “I haven’t been out about the town much. I met Megan at work”. Josh says “Where do you work”? Vanessa says “The Majick Shoppe”. Josh says “Cool. I know someone who goes there a lot”. Vanessa says “Oh,who? I may have met him or her”. Josh says “Clea. She’s one of those gothic types. She loves the whole witchcraft thing”. Josh’s beeper then goes off and he glances down at it. He says “Well…with that I’m gone. It was nice talkin’ to ya Vanessa. Here here’s my number. Maybe we can meet somewhere and REALLY get to talk ok”? Vanessa takes the piece of paper and rips a piece off of it and quickly writes her number on it and says “Here’s my number too. Bye Josh”. “Bye Vanessa”.

After Josh leaves Vanessa walks over to Megan and Jeff and says “Hey,I’m goin’ ok? I’ll see you at work tomorrow ok”? Megan says “Ok,bye Vanessa”! Vanessa says “See ya Megs”. She then walks out of the club and heads to her apartment. On her way she gets shoved down by someone. Vanessa gets up and grabs ahold of her stake and watches the thing that shoved her run so she runs after it. She then sees it stop and then a figure jumps out of the shadows and tackles it down. The thing then attacks the figure. Vanessa then runs over and pulls the demon off of the mystery figure. She pins it and punches it and it kicks her off of it. Vanessa then falls back into a couple of garbage cans. The mystery figure trying to stop the thing then continues punching it and she hears the person snap its neck. The mystery figure then comes over and offers her its hand. She then sees the face of the person because of the little bit of light from the street light shining on his face. She thinks to herself “It’s Angel. Angel has yet again saved me. He sure does come out at the right time. I’m lucky then”. She then takes his hand and he pulls her up. He pulled her up to fast and she didn’t catch her balance and falls onto him thus leading to both of them on the ground. They stay like that for about 30 seconds and Vanessa gets up as does Angel. She says “What kind of demon was it”? Angel says “A Galvrox demon. He is only sent to kill the fierce fighters of the good side. Obviously he was attacking both of us. He must have sensed your strength. Does any of the city’s evil know you’re in town”? Vanessa says “I don’t know of any of the evils in this city. I’ve only been here a week. Who’s the city’s evil”? Angel says “The lawyers of Wolfram & Hart. They want to destroy me and every other person working for The Powers That Be(TPTB) in this area”. Vanessa says “Whoa,I thought I was workin’ for the Council though”? Angel says “You are but your purpose as the slayer is to serve The Powers That Be—unknowingly. See,the Council and The Powers That Be are like one. They work for the side of good and ya know the story”. Vanessa says “Oh…ow”! She grabs at her stomach. Angel,now concerned says “What is it”? Vanessa says “I think that thing cut me when he pushed me down or something because I feel like I’ve been cut”. Angel can smell blood. Vanessa’s blood. He says “Yeah,I think you were. I can smell it”. Vanessa looks at him questionably and says “What”? He says “I can smell the blood coming from your cut”. “We should get that cleaned. Follow me, the hotel where me and the other’s stay isn’t too far. We’ll clean it there”. Vanessa says “Ok,thanxz. I’m followin’ ya”.
