Fade in scene. Charles is standing amongst multiple dead bodies with a smoking gun. A huge smirk is on his face.
"This is the CCPD. We have the place surrounded. Come out with your hands above your head!"
Finally, it was over. They were all dead. The last body hit the floor like the last rain-drop of a storm. My storm.
But I have to go back to the beginning. Trace my own steps to the scene of the crime.
Fade out scene.
Cut scene to Ken, talking to Charles.
Ken: So we're still on for paintball tomorrow afternoon, right?
Charles: Like taking candy from a baby.
Ken: Not this time. I have a good feeling I am going to come out on top this time.
Ken was acting pretty strange that day. But my mind dismissed any abnormalities, I just wanted to get home to my family.
Charles: See ya Ken.
Cut scene to Charles' house, with sun setting behind it.
Twilight crawled across the sky, laden with foreboding. Dinner should be ready soon.
Life was good. The sun setting on a sweet spring's day. The smell of freshly mowed lawns. The sounds of children playing. A big house in the middle of a small city; Cooper city. The American Dream come true. But dreams have a nasty habit of going bad when you're not looking.
Charles: Mom, Dad, Anybody home?
I didn't like the way the show started, and they had given me the best seat in the house. Front row, center.
But something went wrong. No one was answering me. I started to investigate.
Charles walks in darkness and switches on the kitchen light, and notices a strange mark on the floor.
Charles: What the hell?
It was a poison syringe. A magic tag full of diabolical meanings. A map of things to come.
Charles hears a noise upstairs. and pulls out his pistol. He runs to the stairs and hears a scream followed by a gunshot. he runs up and goes into his sister's room. She is lying on the floor, dead.
Oh god, please, no.
He gets up and runs to his parent's room to find his parents under the sheets. Suddenly, Steven comes out of the closet mumbling crazy words.
Steven: The flesh of fallen angels!
Steven pulls out a gun. Before he can get to aim, you hear another gunshot. Steven falls to the floor.
Pan to Charles, with a smoking gun in hand. He drops it, and runs to his parent's bed.
Oh no, please.....(he puts his arms into the air and screams to the ceiling) NOOOOOOOOO!
que sad music. Fade out.
That was 2 years ago. The junkie had been high on a previously unknown designer drug: V. Everything ripped apart in a New-York-Minute. I am Max Georgi, and this is my story of death, greed, and hopelessness.
Cut scene to closet door closing. Charles is putting on a new shirt.
After the funeral I told Ken I'd be moving out of this hell-hole, but before then, I had to get answers. Find out who was behind all this. Then kill them.
Charles pushes the button on his answering machine.
Ken: Ken here. Sean has to meet with you at the clubhouse, immediately. He said he has some answers you might want to hear.
Charles loads a clip into a pistol and reaches for his jacket then walks off scene.
Cut scene to clubhouse gate. Charles walks in, looking around and sees no one.
The clubhouse was drenched in gloom. Sean was a ghost nowhere to be seen. I'd have to look for him.
Charles walks past the pool. goes up to the water fountain and gets a drink. He looks in the clubhouse, nothing but darkness.
As I stood there, looking in the window, it reminded me of my life. Dark, cold, and lonely.
Charles pulls out some painkillers from his pocket.
The pills would ease the pain.
Charles looks at the bathroom, stands for a moment, then walks in. bodies lay about the bathroom. A walkie-talkie sounds and you see a man, in a ski-mask and black uniform.
Man: ...area secured. Hey, who the hell are you?
The man pulls out a pistol and shoots at Charles, he dodges, and as he is falling, he shoots the man. The man's walkie-talkie sounds again and you hear a voice.
Voice: everything alright up there? (he talks away from the walkie-talkie) I don't think everything's okay.
Charles: What was going on here?
Something was not right about this, I'd have to find Sean fast.
Charles gets a clip and keys from the man's body and walks out of the bathroom. He turns and heads for the lake and sees Sean standing on the other side of the gate.
Charles: Sean!
They meet up at the gate.
Sean: Thank goodness I've found you. There are more corpses here then at the city morgue!
Charles: Can you get through?
Sean: No, (Sean shakes the gate) It's locked.
Charles: What's going on here(he points his head towards the clubhouse)?
Sean: I think his is Jessie's doing, he may be in charge of this. I overheard one of the henchmen saying his name.
A man with sun-glasses in the background pulls out a gun, aims, then shoots Sean. Sean falls to the ground.
Charles: Sean? SEEEEEEEAN!!!!
The man runs off.
He was dead. I could tell by the empty acusing look in his eyes. Somehow I had stumbled upon something big, and ended up stepping on Jessie's toes.
Charles looks at the keys in his hand and then walks to the clubhouse, opens the door and then turns on the light. He investigates. Suddenly a phone rings. Charles picks up.
Voice: Who the hell is this?
Charles: Right back at you.
Voice: This is deputy Chief Jim Bravura of the CCPD, you are to cease your criminal activity and surrender immediately.
Charles: Sure thing Jim. Me and the boys have been talking and their real sorry. They'll never do it again.
Jim: Who the hell is this?
Charles hangs up the phone.
Being placed at the scene of a mass murder wouldn't have tipped the odds in my favor. I had to run, get as far away from it as possible. But on the way, I had to find Jessie.
